laser only guided Brimstones with a 14km range is an entirely different guidance method to the laser only guided KH-38 with a 30km range?
We were talking about ARH guidance to IR guidance.
A list of mostly 15-16km range SPAA (literally only the SPYDER AIO doesn’t meet that category): “would likely trigger such additions [] as the Pantsir-SM.”
I really hope you didn’t accidentally read the future…
Spoofed by smoke. Most KH-38T are launched at SAMs most do not have smoke and cannot engage the aircraft before it launches from 20-15km.
To say a Brimstone would be overpowered is a massive reach. It’s a subsonic missile launched from one of the worst platforms in the game. Brimstone would be a nuisance at best as it crashes into buildings/hits dead tanks.
The only map Brimstone would be useful is large open maps with no buildings and cover…So Sinai
It would be overpowered in it’s best state. However, it is just as OP as cas is in general in its current state.
CAS is OP but for 1 nation, the other nations have to spend multiple missiles/bombs to deal with a single SAM.
That nation is now getting another CAS platform with the best missiles in game oh and it’s supersonic, has ARHM and can carry 6 of those missiles.
CAS in general is OP because it doesn’t give tankers a chance to fight back.
The same way Pantsir doesn’t give CAS a chance to fight back?
From what I’ve heard it is dodgeable.
If the pantsir isn’t active in the match, then all CAS is ridiculously OP.
Are you suggesting bias is in play ?
Eh… In the SPAA vs CAS fight, its notably weaker than most at the same BR on a platform notably weaker than most for defending against enemy aircraft and even kinematiclaly defeating SAMs.
brimstones wont be used as a SEAD weapon, the IR PGMs and ePaveways are 100x better for that role. Brimstones will only be good for attacking tanks afterwards, when you can close the distance notably. Their main use will probably actually be killing helis.
There was a lot they could have done to make Brimstones more effective, but they didnt seem to willing to do any. We’ll have to see if they even managed to fix any of the bug reports by the time it goes live.
Not bias more inequality, why is the Pantsir the only SAM that can independently guide 4 missiles/ Why does it have the longest range missiles and the best radar of any SAM
It is but not in actual CAS aircraft, yes an F-16, Gripen etc can avoid it a Harrier, A-10 and Tornado really struggle.
Gaijin seems to love placing a single SPAA as the king of certain BR ranges.
What an absolutely mindless post. What is the matter of range in game? It is only effective range which matters.
The true lock range of Kh-38 is much less than claimed by this post. In reality, this is the range at which the Kh-38 locks onto a static point on the ground. Move 100 metres, and there will be no problem.
Neither is the effective range of Pantsir 20km. A small adjustment in aircraft’s flight path can throw off the missile at such ranges, where the energy of Pantsir’s missile is excessively low. Locking on with AGM-65D or GBUs are all possible between such maneuvers.
This is a theoretical discussion, where all the uproar is theoretical as well.
KH 38 can is consistently launched from 20km, yes most players get closer as they dont have the patience to climb. Plenty of videos of them hitting targets outwith the range of any Western SAM
How does a tank thats fighting another tank know they have a missile incoming on them?
Just drive bro, why even have SAMs or SPAA if we can just drive out of the way things…
Pantsir missile has enough energy to make course corrections at 18km. Unlike Western SAMS where the missile is falling out of the air and just self destructs. Plenty of videos of that too.
The Joke was Pantsir can kill you before it renders.
Yes AGM 65 on fast nible aircraft are the one reliable counter only jets that can pull good aoa and G can hope to defeat it.
Pantsir is a problem because it does everything better. More missiles, best radar, best missile, 30mm cannons, best fire control system and the longest range.
If it was a tank it would be 15.0 compared to an ADATS or a Flakrad
So when is Russian cas getting it’s thermal pods it should?
Oh hi there my dear friend. I really like how people on this forum forget everyone can quickly check their words.
So youre telling me im just a theory fighter huh? Meanwhile this is your stats on SM3 and pantsir:
Oh wait… You dont seem to have them… How comes?
@Артас @Ion_Protogen , check the person before liking his posts, please.
I have experience in both sm3 and pantsir, unlike you.
Once the vehicles capable of using them appear in game. In current state of other nations spaas there is no need of thermals for ussr. And also sm3 and su34 both get thermals in the form of either build-in targeting system or kh-38mt seeker.
They are already in game, in form of SMT and SU27SM capable of using Sapsan and T220 pods
