AA20s still aren’t fixed. How come every other missile gets the treatment of being fixed instantly? (I know that answer, but boy does it make me mad)
Or another one from the same game, also a ‘hit’ within 5 meters of the target, and I’ll be real tracking that shot was not easy and to be rewarded for my skills with nothing is downright depressing. Not to mention a 9B exploding 5m away will blow your wing off, set you on fire and probably destroy your tail control but who’s keeping score right?
I know a lot of people who would disagree that theyve been fixed, though imo the bugs that theyre complaining about now are pretty similar to what the AA20 has been having for like 2 years, if they fix it properly for other missiles maybe aa20 fix too?
They released a patch today, few hours ago. People are generally agreeing they’re fixed now, which only took a few days in the grand scheme of things. However, they’re also reporting that the guidance seams wonky now, which obviously don’t affect AA20s. The gif and video I just posted are from a game I played just now, it’s quite apparent AA20s have not been fixed.

considering your username I assume you have far more experience than me on the subject but in my opinion the problem draws from a weird kinda delay in when the proxy fuse detects an enemy plane and when the missile actually explodes, as I find they perform worst in headons, but are still quite good rear aspect. this could be an issue with some weird server side desync
or maybe gaijin just really hated that guy who was using a cheat script to guide AA nords and decided to kill them (the nords that is)
No no you’re pretty much entirely correct. The fuse itself always triggered and was never an issue with not triggering. It just got delayed with update Alpha Strike.
However, even prior to Alpha Strike their damage (outside of head-ons for some reason) has been inconsistent for several years.
These are in the bug report but both show AA20s pre alpha strike being inconsistent outside of head on attacks:
The generic fix for all missiles when they were bugged did improve AA20s as well, but now it seems a much longer standing bug that was present since even before Alpha Strike is exasperated. And they still detonate late, so they really haven’t fixed the Alpha Strike bug either; just that whatever they fixed with all missiles did make AA20s somewhat work again.
I’m playing it right now, and the initial spading was torture (flying this boat without boosters changed me…) but once you get the shitass SARH missiles and the Nords + engine it’s not that bad as long as your team is somewhat alive.
I’ve had a good streak with Nords so far, very few hits and plenty of crits and severes, maybe they fixed them a bit?
The generic fix for missiles improved nord performance in head ons. They’re still inconsistent in other aspects and even within the head on They’re not as consistent as they used to be.
Vautour is a tough one, it’s pretty good if you can isolate someone and bait them slow. The flaps on the vautour are funny.
one can only imagine what power you and others held then, I read they could guide much faster, that alone makes me mad I only started playing this year.
That’s how I’ve used them.
They work well enough most of the time however they do occasionally proxy behind the jet for some reason and do jack shit, or fail to proxy at all
