I still don’t get why gaijin haven’t done it already.
If proper polls showed that players like current state of things, then No one would be able to complain or state that it is not like it.

I just find it telling that not only the largest poll, but every poll conducted in the community points the the same conclusion, but you keep responding as if the sampling you suggest would indicate any difference. An attorney would call it obfuscation. No less than three people have jumped in to say every poll is invalid because we don’t have Gaijin’s behind-the-scenes data or can’t poll every single player’s game client.
Yeah, I don’t care. I couldn’t care less how effective you think it would be. When you want to make an argument to keep planes in Ground RB, I want you to advocate for SPAA in Air RB. Do you get it? Does that make it clearer? It doesn’t matter if you think it will be effective or not, if you want a fair playing field between the modes then that’s what you should advocate otherwise it’s pretty bad faith.
Which is true. Any poll on the forums, on reddit or on youtube is not representative.
The only way to get proper data is a mandatory poll in the game for all players. Of course such a poll needs a certain runtime to reach a proper sample size and it needs protection from fake accounts that are generated only to influence the poll.
As for SPAA in Air RB, sure, go ahead, add them. They will end up being teamkilled by players who are frustrated about teammates that waste team slots with them.
Cmon, what even? Yeah, I’m sure 38,999 of those are bots specifically designed to make it seem like CAS is unpopular. It’s clearly a false flag operation.
Please point out, where I wrote that the Youtube poll has been affected by fake accounts…I’m waiting…
That’s the implication when you mention it within the context of this conversation. I’m looking at three people who want to turn a simple poll on CAS into a presidential election investigation with accountability for it to have any relevance. You can’t just say, “Interesting, I guess people don’t like CAS.”
Yes i know a little bit about statistics and polling to know that it can have quite the effect on the results in the poll and what one can learn from the polling that has been done.
People actively jump to conclusions based on any indication they can get. The best takeaway from that poll is that Gaijin should look to sample interest in the idea of Tank only.
I cant read their state of mind, but if i were to guess its related to Ground RB being one of the least popular gamemodes and seeking other solutions before splitting the playerbase between more gamemodes.
If a year of split Ground and Air BRs for planes still maintains the same sentiment on the forums, i can see them start laying the groundwork to do it.
That paragraph was not meant to contain such an implication. My suggestion for the ingame poll would be to have it up for a month without prior announcement and let only accounts vote that already existed when the poll went live.
Probably a pre-announcement selection of players to be sampled, and then sample any returning player to gauge if it would bump player numbers.
There is a interesting discussion to be had as to how one would most neutraly gauge interest in it, but also one that would happen behind closed doors
If this was a presidential election, the equivalent of what you are saying would be: the votes from Texas are representative for the entire USA, since there are lots of people in Texas.
With just one assist in a MBT I can spawn a plane with 2 laser guided bombs, really bullshit but gaijin won’t fix it anyways
Im not saying that the poll is invalid, but like every poll the first thing one should ask is:
"What can this poll tell me? "
And what follows is a bunch of questions related to how the poll was done to get a answer to that one question
Really? With one assist you can spawn a 950 SP aircraft? Nothing else? I would like to see a video of that please, because this means that an assist gives you ~ 600 SP, which means that 4 assists are enough to spawn a nuke.
Even if it was 650 SP to spawn with two LGBs, this makes an assist worth 300 SP, which is nonsense.
And a very easy plane to remove. One damaged engine and it is RTB. 3 bombs but 2 drops. Hella strong cannon, yes. But have you actually flown it in GFRB? Opposed this thing is dead in the water. I presume you mean the B2 since the lower BR ones lack the overall punch and still as vulnerable.
But it is so easy to dogfight it. Only a completely and a one trick pony, in AF it shines. And as SPAA, don’t attack it with you as their target. At these BRs you don’t need to be against most piloting aircraft. Just like in ground vehicles players are generally not great in their aircraft too.
We know people prefer the path of least resistance.
Choice:
Have to learn/grind two groups of vehicles
Have to learn/grind one type of vehicle
Ignoring all else as really based on personal opinion/feelings/expectations/attitude what one will most go for?
On paper I think the second option would be more popular, it is vastly simpler and easier on those focused on grinding as all efforts go into one type (and often one nation?).
Give people an easier path and I believe most will take it.
Btw…I am still waiting for an example of these “bones” that keep getting thrown at “air abusers” (War Thunder players)
Checking vehicle use there are not even bones being thrown at aircraft in the combined GFRB mode. I wonder why some feel going air means little resistance and might result in over confident use?
But yes, I other than overpressure changes noted (a game wide adjustment, not only or for benefit of air units) I am not sure this thread is based upon a strong premise.
So you killed him, he saw where you are in killcam, so he hopped in a plane and went there and you were still close enough to your original position for him to find you easily. Its much easier for him to beeline to known enemy position rather than finding new targets. Simple as that!
He simply used his knowledge of your position to score a kill. If you follow whats happening on modern battlefields, its all about finding enemy and bomb/strike them, nothing strange about that. Real life tankers often mention being taught the basic tactic of shoot and move. And this is something Warthunder managed to recreate in its battles.
How is that a bad thing?
Cause they died and are salty about it while abusing some camper spot, so its natural the aircraft comes to remove them from their advantageous position to help his team. But according to these people, the plane just abused them and it should cost atleast half of SP of a nuke and even then they´d complain.
