Personally I think especially after the massive reload buff it got in the dev server it needs to go to 11.3/11.0, and that the HSTV-L should get back it’s historical reload of like .5 or .3 seconds whatever it was

By making the HSTVL look better than it is and claiming it’s superior to the 2s38- helps keep the 2s38 from getting an up tier(DEFENDING/preventing it from becoming balanced). Just to clarify the way I saw it.

The HSTVL would not be OP at 10.7 by any means. It’s easy to kill, the shells don’t spall, and it would still have trouble penetrating MBT’s from the front without aiming.

The commanders aiming control at good angles would & still be its greatest asset. But so is the Bradley at 10.0.

• Its speed and size isn’t a good enough reason to keep it at its current BR, considering a t90 or leopard can survive double digit sabot hits from the HSTVL in the side AND SURVIVE.

Just my opinion.

Just played 5 matches in a row with a 9.0 lineup, in a 10.0 uptier because in every match there was a 2S38, and some of them were dominating the game.
This vehicle must be nerfed ASAP, just because it’s simply good at everything, it can even easily shoot down aircraft up to 4 km, without even triggering LWS on helicopters.
Looks like a shady pay2win vehicle to me…

The HSTV-L sits at 11.3. It’s only advantages are the fact that it has a relatively low profile and higher mobility when directly compared to the 2S38. At it’s BR however, it is about as fast as the MBTs, sometimes slower. That is basically it.

HSTV-L is much faster than such tanks as T-72, T90 of all modifications. So at its BR it is one of the fastest, if not the fastest tank in the game!

The 2S38 sits at a BR where it can lolpen Leo 1s, Chieftains (Hull), Type 74S, etc, basically anything that isn’t an M60 in downtiers. Meaning that in a downtier, all but the most armored MBTs that are then quite slower than it, it can lolpen. We don’t even have to mention the APHE that can frontpen most MBTs
at least somewhere, usually resulting in a oneshot.

Not to mention it’s HE-VT it gets (that actually isn’t a VT round but a time-fuzed like the Puma’s is) allows it to be a higly effective SPAA against both helicopters and planes. Combined with the IRST, it creates a 4km no fly zone around it. In that regard, it is essentially a smaller, but similarly capable Otomatic, which you guessed it, is not 10.0, but 11.3. The Otomatiic however, can’t be used to harass tanks, as it can only load 12 APFSDS rounds.

The only real difference in SPAA ability between the OTOMATIC and 2S38 is the radar and the OTOMATIC having maybe an extra 1-1.5km of effective range, which imo would warrant a 0.7 BR difference (maybe 1.0). Seeing how the 2S38 can hold much more APFSDS than the OTOMATIC (6.16 times more even if it brings half APFSDS and half HE-VT), that would close that gap to 0.3-0.7 BR, imo.

This is your opinion, which is not supported by anything. Where do you get the figure that radar gives an efficiency increase of 1-1.5 km? Firstly, the radar makes it possible to detect air targets early, which greatly increases its effectiveness against aircraft.

They should reduce the 2S38’s BR to 6.7, after all the Ontos has 400mm of penetration that’s nearly double what the 2S38 has.

No it will remain the same as all the other Russian tanks. They were not implemented to be anything other than a massive advantage and a counter to everything.
If you are looking for anything balanced, play literally any other nation. :)

After 10 years I have just accepted Russia is easy mode and implemented in such a way that they are considerably better than their contemporaries.
