American planes don’t turn in general. Please fix it. They are completely useless against commie planes. Devs make that mistake that they assign US planes against USSR ones while those aircraft and their construction doctrines were NOT set and designed to be fighting against each other. So this game is a fantasy MMORPG with no scent / touch of reality.
And they aren’t designed too.
They are designed to perform better at altitude, and to be faster/dive faster than enemeis. Use a tactic called boom and zoom instead of relying just on turn performance, and it can be simplified as diving down on an enemy, climbing fast back up, extending away, and repeating.
American planes could not turn as well as others in real life, and it’s why they were wrecked by the Zeros in the Pacific before pilots figured out how to deal with them.
Bro has never played the P-39, F-4F, F-5E, F-8, F-15A, F-16A, F-14,
Yees, exactly!!! So you should not be assigned them against USSR because the doctrine (esp. meaning distances) was completely different!!! (Then USSR planes which were designed to combat bloody close to enemy / front lines / postions.
Play the P-36G instead. It’s goated.
You forgot F6F-5.
It’s one of the best planes when it comes to turning at corner speed.
You don’t want to dogfight a hellcat downhill where it can convert altitude into speed.
P-51/Mustang Mk Ia/P-51C are also pretty nice turners downhill, easily competing with 109s (with instructor off of course).
Have you tried NOT turnfighting zeros?
I played ALL US planes till jets
sure, I am not stupid
Nonsense - the US P-36 (one of the best non-JP turnfighters) outturns any Yak…the “light” Buffalo (= B-239) performs similar and is a real pain to fight…
Well then you should know all the planes he mentioned are good at turning
Whenever I fight an American plane in a German or Russia plane, I just make it a downhill fight but keep em from getting any shots on me, until they waste all their energy and I finish em off nice and easy.
In a german plane, your strength is in going up. You have greater energy generation at low speeds so a climbing spiral is your ace in the hole against pretty much everything.
Going downhill makes your controls stiffen and lock up.
If there was more variety to spawning, such as spawning at 30-40,000 feet up, US aircraft would excel. The game is also not bound by factors such as pilot training or human limitations. What US aircraft make up in is CAS.
USA aircraft are extremely strong as is in game across the board generally speaking, they just sometimes don’t fit the meta exactly so you have to do things like side climb
There’s are basically 0 props that fit the meta. U.S. planes tend to be weak across the board.
If you want actually good planes that are beginner friendly and fit the meta, play Russia or Britain.
Air sim fits US props fairly nicely.
Up to 3 hour long match, usually 90 minutes. Meaning, you can maintain discipline if so required.
Multiple spawn points, spread out objectives reducing plane density.
No markers. Limited rear visibility.
Usually more friendly teams that are more likely to engage in impromptu teamwork.
Also no instructor to rob you of your max-performance turn so you can actually use your high energy for spooky turns that scare people.
Mustang Mk Ia with RB controls can’t turn hard enough in a flat turn to bleed energy while WEPing under 370 km/h IAS. With SB controls, you can pull your nose on target at cost of rapidly dumping speed for a cheeky snap shot.
highly incorrect
P-51H says hi. Also, P-40, and the P-51C is stupidly strong at its BR.
Thats just not true. Its mainly a player skill issue, like the OP of this thread. The only reason a Spitfire is “meta” is because a dumb player who tries to turn will win when they are fighting a dumb player who tries to turn in an American/German plane because a Spitfire is a turnfighter.
Umm… Are you sure about this? The records show otherwise.
