Could you add the bug that the targeting pod won’t slave to the GMTI (ground-target) radar mode of the F/A-18? Maybe not strictly HUD/MFD related, but still game-play (mainly for SIM) related.
This one just the Hornet, as it tackles Hornet specific issues (that are even implemented correctly in other planes) and I have documentation for it.
Later I’ll add more specific report (or suggestions)…
There is a bug with the F/A-18 in VR (and maybe also on 2D), where if you lock a target with the targeting pod, a green circle appears. This circle is not part of the HUD but its in dark green or the color of the overlay that also does the RWR and radar, and its also misaligned (same misalignment as HMD’s have). This circle shouldn’t be there in the first place as its probably the laser indicator of the targeting pod
Most of the stuff in VR is broken and they are making a VR only game thinking we will trust their job and buy it. How funny is this.
Im gonna throw in my reports for sweden on this matter:

Quick question, does the F-15/F-16/F-18 and Eurofighter HMD are the only one with a fonctional designation marker ? I knew the Scorpion isn’t working but when playing the Tornado Gr4 yesterday I noticed the designator on the HMD isn’t at the right place.
You appear to be correct, the symbology is working, but isnt aligning to the selected target. it was working not that long ago

Damn that was quick, updated on the list.
Hello, can someone tell me if this is normal?
As you might be able to see, the HMS square is displaced to the centre of the HMD. Thanks in advance.
(Might be my laptop that is rendering the game badly or something like that, though)
So I’m just wondering, there are so many bug reports regarding HUD’s and MFD’s in the issue tracker
But as long as I play SIM (which ehmm, is a couple of months really), I’ve never seen a game-update where anything regarding HUD’s / MFD’s actually changed. Eg, since the first day I play SIM EC, I don´t think there ever has been a (bug)fix for cockpits or anything SIM/EC related, EVER.
So, are these bug reports etc completely useless?
They do get fixed, but they are without a doubt bottom of the pile in terms of piority take for example the Sea Harrier getting its placeholder HUD replaced, has only taken 2.5 years and its still not finished, but is being worked on.
I think it just went backwards. When I started spading my FRS.1e a month or two ago, I was able to CCRP bomb by selecting a target direct from the map and would get the target mark and vertical line displayed in the HUD when roughly pointing at the target. However, went back to complete spading it a couple nights ago and noticed there’s no longer a vertical line to mark where the target is when I’ve selected a point on the map; if I visually mark the point under the sight, then I get all the expected HUD symbology… but if I can see the target to mark it I don’t need any steering info.
Yeah, it’s broken. I’ve got a report in.
It was working on the dev server but not on live.
Prior to last major update it had the Harrier Gr3 HUD which actually is pretty decent for bombing. But lacked any and all A2A symbology.
It now does have some A2A symbology with radar lock and aim-9 lock displayed, but the CCRP doesn’t work at all and the gunsight is missing entirely (pending the addition of EEGS).
Hopefully they’ll finish it next major update
