British Weapon Systems - Technical data and discussion

TBF though it’s kinda an pain to model due to the lack of photos, the Patria variant is in somewhat a similar boat.

We could have, but they may prefer a tracked option, I’m not entirely sure lol they must have some rationale

The new Mosquitos have arrived

While test flying these Mosquitos I’ve noticed after a few minutes they seem to randomly drop in engine power and speed. I still have WEP on 110%, but they suddenly go from around 570kph to 530kph top speed for no apparent reason after a while. Is that normal?

Yeah it’s normal

It’s called gaijin being lazy, idle and ignorant as per usual

Probably will be fixed by live server, this happens to lots of aircraft

They add vehicles, don’t bother play test them, then just wait for players to do all the hard work finding glitches and errors

on gaijin’s mistakes

It happens on the FB MK.VI on the dev server too which is a bit concerning, not just the new ones

What torpedo does it get? hoping im not going to be limited to 200kph lol (pure pain on the beaufighter, wheres my case torpedo).

Mark XV i think, not on the dev right now
Edit:

Mark XII

Bruhhhhhhhh

Both need buffs but come on just give us the better torp I beg of you.

I need something usable for torping atm the best we’ve got is the firecrest if you haven’t got the Wyvern.

Yeah, it’s a post-war plane. It should definitely have Mark XV or XVII torps
I’m gonna guess they only got XIIs because the pictures don’t show it with breakaway fins on the torp, and they don’t have an XV model without them.

Pure PAIN…

i once saw a report on the old forums that the 18 inch mark XV torp the wyvern (and a couple others) uses should be using torpex filler instead of TNT, you could prehaps submit the report again and get a buff that way

@TheWarmFridge

The XV and XVII had a 247 kg Torpex warhead, but this was too heavy for wartime carrier aircraft, so they were issued with 176 kg TNT at first, but later 196 kg Torpex. Neither Wyvern, Firebrand, Sea Mosquito nor the Torbeaus in game are wartime carrier aircraft, so they should have the 247 kg Torpex warheads

@da12thmonkey

It seems to me that torpedoes with MAT often were excluded from publicity photographs, or that the photographs were taken from training stations when they didnt use the MATs. Also, the differences in the torpedoes are pretty small, the XII being 20-30 cms shorter than the XV and XVII. This makes it more difficult to differentiate between the marks.

It’s got a new Mk.XV now (and it points the right way)

Bomb bay configuration for the FB Mossies is now also correctly using only the back half of the bay doors, with bombs suspended side-by-side.

Yep, and the Torbeaus as well should have the XV with 247 kg torpex

Recently dataminers discovered that gaijin implemented a new type of differential steering, similar to neutral steering. This is intended for the Elde SPAA for Sweden, but also works (not perfectly) on most tracked vehicles ingame. This gives us an insight into what the Challenger 2 would look like with proper regenerative steering modelled ingame, it is WAY better. When turning, the Challenger 2 with this steering loses some speed, but much less than before.

Credit to Maho (owner of the WT Snail Mine discord) for recording some clips of it, theres also clips of the Cheiftain if people would like them. He also provided videos for the Cheiftain Mk.10 and Centurion Mk.10 (as well as tanks of other nations) if people would like to see them.

Keep in mind this is NOT implemented on live or dev, its a modded version of the game based off code gaijin recently introduced. I think we should really push gaijin to furthur develop this and add it to the game, it is not only realistic but also makes tanks drive so much better.

For context, below is me doing a high speed turn with the current drive model, attempting to turn smoothly (it’s not possible). I went down from around 55kph to 13kph at one point. The modded version with the new steering never went below 37kph.

If its in-game for the Elde, then you should do a dev forum post for it as a stop-gap regen steering, that looks awesome

I was considering doing that, I haven’t actually made a forum post before but I’ll look into doing it. This wouldn’t specifically be for the Challenger 2, but rather all tanks with regenerative steering.

Yep, but all would benefit equally.
