British Weapon Systems - Technical data and discussion

Found this, which shows the shoulder piece and also that the elevation and depression is wrong, I haven’t looked too deeply into it but can someone here make some reports? every time I have made one they get ignored.

Doing the lords work!

NGL I was very confused when I first used the mark V because simply, its designed to clear trenches, how do you do this if you cant aim down xD

@quartas121

Not yet, I think the first was test fired from a Typhoon very recently (end of last year), whether the intergration is going to be done in the US or not remains to be seen

But I do wonder if this might be a rare US import. Spear-3s are going to be powerful weapons and the F-35 can carry 8 of them internally (I think)

  1. Alright, thanks. I thought you were talking about F-35 integration (in which case there is precedent for it to happen in US)

  2. Ehhh I doubt it, we have GBU-53 and if need be there was a proposed jet powered version. Maybe even the Anduril cruise missiles

Yeah, we’ll have to wait and see if it needs the same level of intergration as the Meteor apparently does

and proposed isnt quite the same as actually being developed. It might just be cheaper for the US to buy some Spear-3s short term at least

Also if they dont call it the “the flame of the west” they are going to let a lot of people down

Yep, afaik it’ll have to be integrated with UAI

Iirc the powered GBU-53 was an entry to Spear 3 so I think it is well within reality, could probably be done within a year tbh.

The Anduril cruise missiles are called Barracuda-M. The one I am talking about as alternative is the 250lb one (Barracuda 250)

F-35 is specifically mentioned

So I managed to do the funi in the HP 12

But I was wondering, why is it that the tail lewis guns have absolutely tiny firing arcs? Like they can only really shoot off the side of the plane and have effectively nothing over the rear/above the tail area.

Is that historical or just gaijin trying to make it even harder to defend yourself in the worst bomber in WT? XD

Also I noted that when you look from under the plane, theres holes/compartments for another 8 bombs, should it be carrying 16 not just 8?

yeah they have a very large deadspot in the rear

nothing on the model that would suggest such a large deadzone, let alone any (bar the tailplane itself)

i think thats for smaller bombs, WIkipedia states a max bombload of 2000lb, which the current bombload is 1840lb, maybe someone will put a bug report about the missing smaller bombs at some point according to Wikipedia’s Operational history section there are 112lb bombs which were used to attack the SMS Goeben but Wikipedia is obviously not a valid source for any sort of bug report

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/qQf1mOZW9sfI

I made a report with a couple ingame screenshots showing the massive deadzone the plane suffers from. Frankly it isnt worth spending hours/money trying to find proof that the mounting would allow the lewis gun to fire over the rear.

Hopefully a little common sense applies and gaijin give us the ability simply for balance because its errr, yeah.

as thought, you need OEM manuals for it, lmao… GL finding OEM on a lewis gun mounting on a niche aircraft lads xD

“feels off” for turret traverse scimitar nerf is fine though xD

They just wanted to nerf them and they were given a reasonable excuse and a scapegoat. Should be like 40-45°/s anyway

Britain in a nutshell

I feel like AMRAAMs should have 200km range :P

i was under the impression the turret was manually driven due to it not having a stab for the reason it was seen as redundant if it was gonna go offline in a nuclear strike anyway, or is that just an old wives tale? Everything about British procurement baffles me to no end tbh…

Fox/Scim are manual yes

Also, most images I have seen of the plane from WWI seem to show it with a twin lewis mount on the nose ring position, would be a thing to report too if anyone finds an OEM xD.

Guys could you ask your government to buy like 1 rafailure? I feel like it’s the fastest way to finally get it nerfed.

Nahz we’ll just get a C&P Indian one sooner rather than later and then it will get nerfed hard Vis Britain tax
