You do know that Brimstones have the exact same capability and have had it since they entered service right?
In fact the Brimstone can do it better because it uses a MMW seeker instead of IR seeker and where the Rafale is limited to only 6 the Typhoon can carry 18 of them. Brimstone 2s match the range of the AASM, Brimstone 3s beat it and the Spear-3s blow it so far out of the water that its kinda hilarous to even try to compare them.
I know the Rafail holds a special place in your heart, but in this regard its so outdated its hardly even a competition. Heck, its so OP that gaijin has to give the Typhoon the earliest possible variant of the Brimstone and nerf so hard through the floor its hardly even recognisable as the weapon system its meant to be depicting
Guys, please stop wasting your time with this troll, and please move this to an appropriate thread.
This whole argument is kind of silly in the first place, AASM and Brimstone are different weapon classes. Dont even think AASM can actually hit moving targets without laser assistance (seeing as the AASM’s own datasheet states the IIR seeker is for precision strikes on facilities, and that the laser is for strikes against moving targets), and Brimstone certainly cant deal any large scale damage to buildings like 500/2000lbs bombs could.
Spoiler
You’re arguing apples and oranges with a troll that has nothing better to do than waste your time while he sucks off french tech waiting for a mod to come remove all your comments for being off topic.
You are also to blame for the degeneration of this thread, which should be a resource hub for technical reporting, by constantly bringing in angry people with stats and comparisons to other fighter.
Please don’t try to make yourself a hero trying to fix it now.
This is based on a Catherine MP IR training, not MMV training.
Nowhere does it says it is the pinnacle of the capabilities, it explicitly states “training examples for each object class”. Does not say it is the limit of its capabilities.
Going by the source terminology, class recognition is a part of a threat ID. The system is supposed to recognize the class of the target, and then it matches from a database.
Ive generally tried to keep the thread related to the Rafale and this isnt the first, nor the last time ive stated stuffs gotten off topic and needs to go back on track. Feel free to check the comment history if you dont believe me, I dont care enough to deal with ppl that are angry at me for being one of the rare Rafale fan that thinks things should be balanced in the short term and accurate in the long term to interact with you any more than I already have.
Su-27 doesnt really need it’s Radar as much though as it thrives in the short to medium range late game. It’s weapon systems are designed as such R-77 and R-73 and even R-27 are all pretty lethal in short range.
Typhoon really needs to be able to use it’s Radar to make that limited payload count.
We are also comparing an older mechanical scan Radar with the most advanced mech scan Radar in the game.
