It depends, being LOSBR there’s overpressure potential, there’s no shortage of soft targets with all the clown cars and free SPAA
I’m not optimistic either way

depends on how much explosive filler they give the missile otherwise it could be like pissing on them instead of throwing stones
Another Army Wildcat AH.1 (again, usually unarmed) shown with a fully loaded pylon and radar fitted, at Farnborough in 2018.
is that brimstone i see in that first picture? hmm makes me wonder if we could get brimstone on it instead of spikes
brimstones would just be hellfire equivalents either way
yes unless we finally get fnf ones, plus brimstones are better than hellfires as faster and longer range
Only if we get Brimstone 2s, Brimstone 1s arent any different I think to the Hellfires already in-game
Brimstones will always suffer until they are given the mmw feature.
true that, but would be nice to have brimstone 3
yeah would be nice to finally have them fire and forget, as i don’t think the excuse they’re saying has anything to stand on as im sure it has a system built in to avoid friendly fire

The British naval defence community are rarely ever wrong even on minor details. It’s astounding how much some of them know. And NavyLookout is usually pretty gospel.
so when can british ah64e get brimstone as clearly it was fitted and test fired and according the mbda it can be fitted to the helicopter even if its not been offically selected for operational use
i mean it literally says
The firing took place from an M299 launcher using a telemetry missile with no warhead, proving that Brimstone can be successfully integrated onto an Apache.
And it never really went anywhere.
We don’t know what actually happened during the test - could aswell be like F-14 amraam, basically a seperation test with no guidance from vehicle
already said British AH-64E will not receive Brimstone SAL, because it’s worth than JAGM-MR.
so…🥀
edit: found it

Brimstone 1 is. Brimstone 2 wouldn’t necessarily be. Even with SAL. Brimstone 3 would definetly not be worse (prox fuse)
But alas, Gaijin thinks the 2 and 3 are marketing lies
it would say its better than aim179 as its a faster missile and probably has longer range, the fact they won’t give it its true ablity is a load of crap as russian missiles can fire without line of sight so the arguement is invalid
sigh… no you are wrong.
Those high frequency radars on hellfire and brimstone lock only at very limited range (2km is sometimes quoted as extreme range). So to make them work you’d have make them lock on after launch, they have no IFF so they will just kill anything in seeker range (or IRL boundaries setup on kill box). That would make you just spam them into AO and hope you don’t teamkill enough to get kicked becuase you wont die.
Now enters another question if those can LOAL why are other missiles limited to LOBL and now you can see that IR missiles that can search and from further away are immidietally better than radar missiles.
And we’re back at square one.
Reality is that radar missiles for helicopters are fulda gap fantasy and thus either extremly unfair (to tanks or to planes with IR LOAL missiles) or kinda mid while escalating anti ground capability in game
edit: oh and don’t call it agm-179. Thats just fancy hellfire what we have in game is KH-38-like fake missile JAGM-MR
if they were using the missiles inbuilt radar sure, but most vehicle that use it have their own radar, which surely extend that lock range, im sure using the longbow radar would increase it, otherwise what would have been the point of developing the agm114l. the problem i see is laser guidance is limited as its easily counted by smoke as is ir missiles, the radar missile is harder to spoof unless tanks use jamming equipment or have their own chaff dispensers to confuse the missile, and im sure the missile is datalinked irl so it would know what target is friendly and what isn’t
