Yeah it can only carry 4x AS.11 or 2x AS12+2x AS.11.
AS.12 doesn’t fit on the inner pylons
what different between M260 sight and normal one
Normal H-34 lack any sight.
M260 was the normal one for most early helicopters equipped with AS.12
Wasp, Wessex, Alouette III, AB.212ASW were all able to fit that sight in the roof when AS.12s were carried or for other observation purposes, but the sights were generally removed from the helicopter when they weren’t needed
Some later helicopters that equipped AS.12 like the Lynx Mk.2(FN) (the French one), Gazelle (in Egyptian service) and Sea King (in Spanish service) used the later APX M334
Ahhh that explains it, still I love these helicopters. It always amazes me at the Fleet Air Arm museum just how gargantuan those things are. My head is lower down than the intake it’s insane.
Unfortunately the developers have said its not possible for the sight to be ported across from the Wasp, as there are some differences in how its mounted, textures and other matters that all require considerable time and references to model. As such, it cannot be done before the major update.
Removing the AS.12 is also not an option, but it was discovered that the Type GS907/1A can and was in fact often used for AS.11/12 guidance as an option. So the sight is not actually fully required on the roof for AS.12 guidance anyway.
More references will also be needed to fully model the roof mounted sight, as we will need to know what it looks like in the interior of the Wessex. So overall this would all take a considerable amount of time.
A suggestion report can be made to log the matter officially once it becomes available with the dev server, but it will not be considered as a bug as crews often used the gyro-stabilized head-mounted sight Steadyscope GS907/1A anyway for ATGM guidance.
My next helo suggestion will be interesting…
Documents relating to the Whirlwind Mk.10 AS.11 pylon installation (apparently called Conversion 1491) were posted on the Secret Projects thread
Doc1
Doc 2 (diagrams)
Matches the fittings we have seen photographed previously on the test airframe and helicopters in the Far East.
I’d be confident that Gaijin could model Whirlwind Mk.9 and Mk.10 with their respective AS.11 fits
Great find, that’s very cool indeed :)
Lost the more British mod upgrade (sad)
So 28 possible now?
Or is this just an illustrative graphic of a future growth potential?.
Render, no 7 launcher exist afaik
I’m reaching into the depths of my brain here so cut me some slack, but iirc thats a really early render from early in the Wildcat development process, at the time they had settled on a higher, single hardpoint wing, instead of what we have now, with a lower, longer wing with two hard points, early enough that they’d where calling it lynx wildcat or future lynx lmao
Yea, it is from Future Lynx times. Still it would be fun if ever 7 rack gets created. 28 missiles in total would be fun, but not practical in real life.
This is an early render as already pointed out. IIRC the in-service pylon can use up to 10 on each side (for a total of 20) or a mix of Sea Venom and Martlet.
Future Lynx opens up a can of worms, as it was proposed to get Hellfires, or maybe even Brimstone. These were never fitted outside of renders as far as I know, and the only other weapons used on the Wildcat apart from those used in UK service are the Spikes used by the ROK Navy.
Oh trust me, i know it wery well, sadly…
