Really hope we get a County soonish. Standfast Japan (which technically already has a missile ship) we are now the largest naval nation without a missile ship, and considering we had missiles down in 1943 as part of LOPGAP, made the first purpose built Guided Missile Destroyer (County), and maintained a pretty advanced fleet of air defence destroyers, we’re well overdue for a Seaslug/Sea Dart armed Destroyer.
They can make all the excuses in the world about why they treat Britain Air and Ground the way they do, but how they treat our naval tree is just insane.
Would be a very nice addition and my suggestion is almost done, the Russian’s do also need a proper FFG/DDG as they currently lack one of significance. This would also be a point where adding Indian vessels to the British tree may be worthwhile (AFTER DOMESTIC ADDITIONS), as they have a number of unique ships (from their Soviet derivatives) that would fit and be likely more effective than our own in-game.
Seaslug is the only missile we have that is worthwhile to add as its warhead is 91kg, Seacat has a warhead of 18kg, Seadart of 11kg, and seawolf of 14 (with no confirmed surface to surface mode iirc).
Whereas India has a few soviet systems already seen in-game such as those found on the Bravy.
The French also need Suffren and their domestic Charles F Adams equivalent, as do Japan and Italy.
I do not particularly want the Australian Charles F. Adams as its even less unique than the Indian variant of the Kashin class is compared to the Soviet type.
They like adding to many destroyers it annoys me
Bravy exists. As does the Russian end-of-the-line Coastal Boat.
Mind you, that is a Kotlin rebuild iirc.
Also, refers Lt Gen. Cedric Delves’s book on the SAS D Sqn in the Falklands, iirc the Sea Wolf was modified in such a way (unofficially) that it could be fired in an “emergency” surface to surface role. Sea Wolf should comprehensively wreck any aircraft at low level, and Sea Dart should ruin anyone in a NEZ.
need some feed back
Are the Nelson and Rodney the same size?
Flipping back and forth between them in port, I swear the Nelson is like 5% larger.
It’s probably the camera angle, Rodney is actually 10cm longer.
It could be the camera angle. It’s also possible (but I think unlikely) that vehicles just aren’t scaled properly in hangar… but spinning the ships around and swapping back and forth, Nelson looks bigger.
A year has past now and still no R class for the UK…
Soon™ (Will this be the UK equivalent of the A-6E SWIP?)
At least this might mean more corvettes and gun boats I guess
(Seriously, what was the issue with giving a British R class the on the same update it a couple after? We had several M44s and M55s with 0 differences in an update)
Have they got the same draft in hanger?
that might also create an appearance of one being larger than the other
edit: looking, I think Nelson is a little higher in the water, not much, but it does look a little bigger
Spoiler

Nelson

Rodney
Ok I’m sure I’m going to get absolutely flamed for this, especially in this thread,
but… I think Smin’s take is exactly right. The R-class just isn’t a priority for Gaijin right now and that’s understandable.
The tree at that BR is very full with lots of options at 7.7. Also at 7.7 is Warspite which is, from a purely gameplay perspective, a better version of the R-class.
Also, which line would it go in? Is Gaijin really going to folder it (which, from a player-facing perspective, they should) or are they going to extend one of the lines by a whole extra ship in what is currently one of the largest individual ranks in the whole mode?
So I can see why it’s not Gaijin’s first priority.
Honestly, given PoW’s god awful AP round, PoW should be 7.3.

RIP
BRUH WHY?
For what purpose?
If this is an early april fool’s joke, I’m not laughing.
yeah i have kinda given up on the navel game mode and have excepted that it is kinda dead
