So many UK ships should have more planes
Not only UK ships, so many ships. I think Dunkerque class and Ise are only capital ships with correct number of hydroplane
They’ve used British inches for the armour.
I don’t even know how to go about reporting that because all the blueprints are in British inches too.
The blueprints use lb normally
What’s the internal layout look like
I think you and I use ‘British inch’ for different meaning.
Current ingame armours are all used in ‘common inch’, which is 25.4 mm = 1 inch.
British armour I mean is 24.9 mm = 1 inch, to ease the calculation of weight by making 1 lb armour = 1 inch thick.
So yeah, @warhead_beast is right. Most blueprints were using lb to calculate the weight of armour easily, and according to that, KGV’s armour is going to be little thinner.
I was referring to the British inch as being the thickness provided by 1lb of cemented armour which would indeed reduce our armour thickness. Hence why the blueprints say 15" belt despite it really being 14.7" which is still very good. I think we are talking about the same thing but I’ve left more info out to come to the same conclusion.
On another note:
I have been digging into the supercharges available on the BL 14" MK.VII, it appears the guns and breeches are identical, and that the charges are also identical in size, but are more densely packed rods with a different compound of cordite. Which means there’s no barrier to those guns being able to use supercharges too as its literally the same gun as was used at the dover batteries. For KGV I think this may be a necessity to overcome the poor turret armour, and poor penetration. Particularly at 8.0.
Considering that ingame draft is little deeper than hangar one.
So, except for rear auxiliary ammo storage, all citadels are in very safe place.
That’s pretty nice what’s the internal armour layout looking like
Going to have a go comparing it to the HMS Howe armour plans I have on Saturday evening to look if there are any differences.
(But as with Vanguard Gajin has done a quite good job modeling the armour layout correctly)
Making a County Class Destroyer Suggestion once I’ve checked out any bugs with PoW.
What do we think of the title: ‘‘County Class Destroyers: Slugging it out’’?
has anyone tried the prince of wales yet?
I might start the grind soon, but with the event coming up, im not sure i have the motivation to do both at the same time
yeah i am wanting to get the boxer kinda glad i am not interested in only the ground
I normally ignore ground events, but Britain and 10.7 is mostly what little ground I play.
Gonna get back into naval purely for her and to seek out the inaccuracies.
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find anything so far that would likely be convincing enough for Gaijin to give her supercharges though. But after I play her perhaps she might not need them?
I’m not sure but it can’t hurt to try.
I played one battle on it, but I didn’t really like it. It can tank well, of course, but… The main battery turret rotation is terrible and… Well, I don’t know… It’s kind of 50/50.
Yeah, the turret rotation speed is unfortunately, British standard at 2 deg/sec, I assume the shells are pretty meh in practise, and the arcs weren’t what I was expecting. I believe the armour is also very slightly too thick everywhere but that won’t change the expected tankiness of the ship considerably.
Makes sense, was always going to be that way unless it fought ‘real’ historical counterparts, and even then, there was the potential for potentially stronger competitors.
She’s still my favourite class of course (should’ve been KGV or DoY tho IMO), so i’ll play her, just like how Hood is my vessel of choice at 7.7.
