Not true in the slightest. The Migs flight model is so terrible it’s hopeless in a gunfight, and R-27ERs can be multipathed, and R-73s are easily flared.
For air RB in general, the Mig-29G is still worse because of the much worse radar/RWR, and endurance, and fewer missiles.
As long as what’s coming at you is an AIM-7, it doesn’t matter whether your RWR is good or not.
Missiles are also used to force a good approach angle, not just to get kills.
For example, if you’re in an F-16C and a Gripen is 1 km behind you, if it fires an AIM-9M you can flare it and still accelerate away if you do everything correctly. But if the Gripen has an R-73, you’ll have to turn extremely hard to dodge it (which never be :v), which forces you into a close-range dogfight that you will definitely lose.
And yes, the F-15A does have better situational awareness — I don’t think that even needs to be mentioned.
