Belly flop landings removed

Correct.

Correct.

Yet painfully slow as I could stop and repair by the time it takes to stop with gear.

Well if there is a problem with belly landing then i guess i’ll never be able to land a plane again.

I can’t remember the last time i landed normally.

i forgot to mention something,

the P-59 not only refuses to lose speed with wheel brakes, but also just in the air. it does not slow down unless you do a 180 but once you try to lose altitude to land you gain it all back :sob:

It’s outrageous, this change wasn’t even announced

Furthermore, belly landings are a thing IRL, gently sliding along the tarmac shouldn’t cause you to spontaneously explode into a fireball

What if you have one or more gear shot away? Too bad, you will die I guess

Had multiple belly landings last night in Sim, including one rather rough landing where I actually ended up flipping upside down. Still repaired just fine. So either this doesnt affect SB at all. Or there is something else going on.

This was before the Update dropped, but recently I tried a belly landing with my F-14 IRIAF. I was at just shy of 400kph when I touched the runway and exploded in an Instant.

ive belly landed today, went well, but the new noices REALLY wakes you up.

You absolutely still can
Just maybe be a bit more gentle- you gotta kiss the ground, just a smooch, like you’re kissing your sister
Or land properly

You can still belly land, but not at ludicrous speeds as before.
I’ve belly landed with four different planes, all when touchdown speed was under 250 km/h.

I was like 80% right lol

Basically this. I don’t belly land because I can’t land “properly.” I belly land because it is MUCH faster than a proper landing even once you factor in the repair timer.

No, you can’t!
You can touch the runway as smooth as possible, from now on it’s luck.
As I written before, landed on belly smoothly, slided several meters without any issue and at 60kph exploded instantly.

Sometimes proper landing isn’t possible because you lost gear in combat, so belly land is needed, and it’s a normal thing in war.
There are many original recordings in YT, and guess what, not one explodes.

I did it four times in a row with different aircraft, doubt it’s luck.

Yet none of those aircraft sit there for 45 seconds, get new gear and ammo refilled then are back in the fight.

Granted it may just be a bug or tolerances were lowered. Dirt runways especially have caused me problems trying to belly land (most likely considering Gaijin are really good at introducing bugs)

What aircraft are you finding that you cant belly land?

it does kill u tho, i was as slow as 60 mph when my wheel snapped and i still explode immediately (i was in f15c). I think the belly land is way too sensitive in this update, and they should do revert it a little.

It doesn’t “crash” immediatly, every time i land without gear my plane goes fine for a few seconds and then suddenly it bounces upwards and break apart, like it hit an invisible bump in the runway.
I’d say this is likely some physhics stuff acting in an weird way in the runway itself from their rework on airfields rather than something intensional “for balance”

This happened to me as well, but only if my speed on touchdown was above 250km/h.
