Yesterday I suddenly discovered that I could control head movements with buttons again, and then I discovered that battleye had blocked a process that belonged to opentrack. I’m not a fan of using opentrack in warthunder, but it’s weird.
I have noticed that the game is running even more jankier than it did with the other program, this battleye seems to be snooping around in the computer even more than the last one.
Battleye is blocking my Opentrack too.
Opentrack, the software used to use Head Tracking for Simulator Battles… (the VR of the poor, lol)
Does it mean it detects it as cheating software somehow? Are we at risk of being permabanned over this?
Supposedly, this was an issue and it was fixed; however, it still occurs every time I launch War Thunder.
I don’t really play Simulator Battles and I rarely ever play DCS anymore, so it doesn’t affect me for now; but it concerns me that Battleye is putting my account at risk by detecting Opentrack as a software it must block…
Bug report where it’s claimed to be fixed:

I’m now having the same issue, I was playing sim with it yesterday and had no issues, today it gets blocked
Yeah this needs to be fixed. The game is not running well.
I’ve just encountered this error again.
I have played with opentrack yesterday just fine. But battleye blocks it today for some reason. I’ve been playing like this for a month already, i can’t find a way to fix this except waiting for opentrack to work again some day.
try running beac_wt_mlauncher.exe instead of the launcher
When was the last time you updated your Opentrack software?
I had it block TrackIR so I went and looked and it was several years out of date. After updating no problems.
Blocked my TrackIR today and that was a brand new install a week or so ago (after my 15-20-year-old TrackIR 3 gave up, I updated to v5). Restart of WT fixed it and usually there’s no problem… and I hope it doesn’t become one.
BattleEye simply doesn’t launch if you restart the game. It’s broken. Our Chinese friends have been aware of this ‘feature’ for a long time and are taking advantage of it. All reports about head-tracking blockers on the bug report portal are being closed with comments like ‘this isn’t our anti-cheat, so it’s not our problem’ or ‘contact the anti-cheat provider.’ It’s just laughable. No, Gaijin, this is YOUR problem. We (the players) can’t play YOUR game because YOU can’t come to an agreement with BattleEye.
same here im using toby eye tracker with open track as its required to run head tracking in war thunder and it gives me problems
Yep, still get this occasionally with Track IR 5. Not often enough to be a major pain - and if I’m watching I can note it in that start-up text window - but still irritating.
Since the latest update I get tons of crashes while trying to join sim matches, and it leads to this error appearing more often… So together with the crashes I need to launch the game 6-7 times for it to actually work… First time in years I am having fun for longer than a few months on this game but I guess it doesnt want to retain a sim playerbase…
Just encountered this error as well, actually it happened multiple times since the introduction of battleye. It’s always blocking “NPClient64.dll” - but the head tracking works fine.
Reading all you guy’s answers makes me think that for you all, the same error message coincides with NOT being able to use the head tracking via OpenTrack? Or did you just assume its not working based on the message?
Because it clearly states: “file blocking can be ignored if it doesn't cause problems with the game
” - which, for me, is the case. Like, I get the message yes, but I’m still able to use OpenTrack normally.
Just to make things more clear, since different tracking methods via OpenTrack might need different DLL files: I’m using Freetrack 2.0 Enhanced, together with PointTracker 1.1 and the Accela filter. Version 2023.3.0.
For me OpenTrack stopped working. The app itself worked, but WarThunder wasn’t recognizing anything. I use the same tracking methods as you are, tried both the latest and a 2021 version.
I get this error with trackir5 sometimes. Just restart the game should fix it.
That’s so strange, I can’t imagine Battleye blocking something on one PC but not on another. They have like hardcoded lists for things.
Do you think it could be a WT related issue? Have you tried restarting the game with OpenTrack open?
I could always ignore that error message, because as the message also said, it didn’t cause any problems with the game. Just came out of a match with OpenTrack perfectly working.
