Bad weather makes CAS unplayable

First of all you are sitting in a helicopter 4 km away with ATGMs. 2nd clouds can change depending where you are and what type of weather it is. 3rd the clouds at the battlefield most of the time are high enough where you can see more.

Radar doesnt help you when Aircraft can sit outside of your missile intercept range dropping GBUs or AGMs unimpeded, CAS almost always has the advantage its just the average CAS player flys like he’s got a P-47, go play the super entendard sometime it has free reign to sit in orbit immune to any SPAA dropping guided bombs on people

That’s another topic if people don’t take SPAA or fighters, suffer from CAS is what they deserve.

Not realistic, under such kind of weather there won’t have too many battles in fact.

First, I am just 3km away, behind the mountain, 2nd, this is not clouds, it just fog weather, the clouds are above to me a little bit higher, which is about 300m, and they never disappear under fog weather.

This only happened in a sunny day and in Toptier or BR 10.3, yes, some of nations at these BR don’t have good SPAA to against like A6E or F16C, but all of them have such kind of similar things now, but under the bad weather, like fog weather, you can’t see anything until crash on the trees or mountains

Yup, CAS is useable so it’s a part of ground battles.

Currently, ground RB dictates air RB BRs.

Its about both. Their were battles with these in WW1, WW2 and the present day. It was also shown many times that sometimes ground forces were not able to call in air support die to the bad weather.

That argument isn’t valid cause SPAAs is really only good against air units and some ground units but CAS is able to take on both most ground units and air units, and for MBTs you really can only take on ground units.

You’re acting like getting fog on a map is every game which its pretty rare to get this type of weather, and also impossible to use CAS in which @ULQ_LOVER has shown that isn’t that bad and could actually give CAS the upper hand.

ye this case RW is scuffed and would rather suggest FW.

Well, I personally don’t really care. CAS is one of these Topics where I just win.

If I deploy CAS myself I get at least one, if not multiple, free kills which require zero skill because enemy AA is usually incapable of anything as long as you don’t fly right towards them

If the enemy team has the advantage in the match and some of them deploy their precious CAS, I just kill them, usually before they can even kill something. That makes them losing spawnpoints and has turned a match or two in the past.

Had some good matches with my trusty FlaRakRad with 5+ Airkills, always feels nice
Even though I only have that one since last August, it is one of my Top 5 All-Time SL Earners (2.7M SL total)
While my Favorite CAS, the ME 262/U4 has over 300 Ground Kills

no nation has good SPAA to counter an even semi decent CAS player who sits outside of missile range only really the pantsir could be classed as a good SPAA at toptier but even that has to deal with the SPAA nerf which made planes sitting in a 30-40° above you unkillable as missiles are unable to track a target moving at high speed horizontally anymore

Sometimes people can rely on the bad weather to do something, like german in 1945, this also could be considered in the game, because allies has better CAS but worse tanks(Sherman VS panther) and such kind of bad weather will break this balance of them.

I just provide an example, not exactly. CAS could been taken by ground and air units as well, especially when they are shot down by a SPAA which only needs pay 110SP, that is not fair trade. I am sure most of players don’t have the ability to deal with Panistar S1( remember when it came out, how many nato players complain?)

He imagined the scenario, in reality the situation is very difficult, as you can see with the weather in the photos I provided, any attempt to fly low is no different from suicide. In fact the game has more than half probability of such bad weather, even in the desert you can encounter foggy weather (I lived in the desert for 5 years I have never seen such fog)

what is RW and FW?

At this angle, you can still lock him, and you can wait him to dive on you and shoot the missiles, or use IRST to guide it.

Fun fact. In the German translation, „ground realistic“ is called „Realistische Panzerschlachten“ → „realistic tank battles“. That’s why I always thought it’s strange to see planes in them

You do realise CAS only needs to dive for a few seconds and after that you have a 0% chance or surviving whatever they just dropped and once they return to level flight they’re unkillable again also what are you implying with IRST it makes no difference whether you lock with IR optical or radar

This is why we need things like Ground radar / Ground mapping radar. Guided weapons still wouldnt be useful, but it would enable jets like the Tornado to atleast put bombs on ground targets regardless of weather

So you’re saying that CAS should be the same SP as SPAA so if they kill you its a fair trade? what type of nonsense is that?
But also to add onto that, yes both ground and air units can take out CAS, but its much harder to do then it would getting kills in CAS.

Really? Cause myself I can do the same and many others can to, but of course its going to be harder cause of the weather just like its harder for SPAA to see planes.

Rotary Wing for Fixed Wing

IRST won’t make RWR warning, that’s the key point, so many SPAA make foolish decisions is lock the target far from the shot range.

Much harder? do u mean your radar is useless or Crew remembers are useless? I never said CAS should be the same SP as SPAA, what I said is using such a low SP to exchange or even kill at least 2 CAS are worth enough, how many CAS are you expecting to kill by one SPAA? Do u expect that each of spaa should kill all of the CAS on the sky? that is nonsense at all.

By the way, you still have fighters, which SP cost is still lower than CAS
