^^THIS AF. There is no Tank arcade mode, its just an airstrike and artillery simulator. Actual tank vs tank fighting in this mode is maybe 9% of the actual game play. The rest is your tank getting blown up twice by airstrikes within a minutes time. Honestly, who the hell designed this crap? lol. IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!
This has to be the most snarky nauseating response I have ever read in years. You just admitted that this game mode virtually has NOTHING to do with tank battles. But you know what? People will eventually find a better game and you can just airstrike the living hell out of your precious bots. You are exactly why games are absolute trash now.
One more thing, in the real world, German tech smashed everyone out of the water. A “pro” in a Sherman could never beat a Tiger with a “noob”. Your fantasy world is far from reality.

There is just a small, tiny and probably irrelevant problem with this theory…over 75% of the deaths on a ground forces match are by ground vehicles.
There was ananlysis on the old forum, but you can actually see it on any match if you look at the kill events…

sure, thats why 99% of the team list has around 4 kills or less, but the top guy alone has kills in the double figures, as high as 15 in some cases.

How about a mechanism where if a ground vehicle is destroyed by a bomber, it is not counted as a kill, but only returned to the spawn point?
This may alleviate some of the frustration, disgust, and disappointment felt when a ground vehicle is destroyed.
It won’t solve the dissatisfied of tankers, but Gaijin is reluctant to this issue, I don’t think they will even look at the proposed major changes.
If possible, it would be better to change the bomber to be controlled by the AI, not the player, and to drop bombs at designated points and leave, just like artillery support.
Of course, a smoke signal goes up at the bombing point. or a communication will come in from a ally who has intercepted the enemy’s request to bomb.
In short, it must be able to detect a request to bomb in the area near its current location.
I don’t think fighters are needed for ground battles.
If its not counted as a kill then what reward does the bomber get?
why just Arcade? RB should have an option for Mixed battles and (truly) tank/ground forces only.

i think its commonly understood that german engineering was better than most others, the accuracy of its barrels, the accuracy of its hand weapons, british soldiers would prefer the mp44 to the tommy gun.

who cares what reward the bomber gets?
he should be fighting in a tank, thats what he spawned in.
but 1 tank spawn can result in 2+ plane spawns with no losses for being killed in the plane whatsoever.
the plane gets killed then ‘poof’ hes back in his tank with a dozen or more kills in the bag, free to carry on regardless, no losses, no forfeitures.
what does a bomber lose? 5 minutes in his tank, which is hiding at the back of the field only really susceptible to planes themselves.
try looking at the stats of tank kills via plane vs tank for the ‘top’ players.
im betting those with most tank kills were achieved using bombers.
Checking those stats isn’t accurate… They could’ve been in Air AB and bombed those vehicles.
Depends…i like the air attack mechanic…particularly in arcade. It was something that attracted me to the game at the beginning…flying over the same battle where my tank was…fun to me.
THAT SAID…i agree there are too many planes on occasion and that we could test a tank-only mode as an ALTERNATIVE (i think i would play both)…but in arcade i dont think it is “breaking” the game…could be toned down a bit.
Heavy bombers is a bit “unrealistic”…but attack planes and fighters is fun IMHO. (Don’t see a lot of ATGM helicopters…so no opinion on this)
sure, ill settle for an alternative, then we will see how many actually prefer what.
ill put my money on this version of AB being abandoned in short order.
those who like to bomber spam will soon get bored having no targets, and will move across to the alt version.
that just leaves the issue of what to do with spaa, they are a meme anyway, i dont see a problem with getting rid of them.
i cant agree that heavy bombers is a BIT unrealistic, its a LOT unrealistic, given that ordinance in the 1000-2000lb range was used to flatten infrastructure, yet in this game everything BUT the infrastructure is damaged.
in reality there would be holes 25ft deep, but they didnt use them, because that battlefield was a place that they would also have to cross, 25ft deep holes would have made it impassable.
this entire game is a poor simulation posing as a technical rendition of reality
And that response is why I genuinely don’t think there’s any actual worth in engaging with the proponents of the want of this…
It’s only because they want to play this mode that they have something they can’t handle and they want to do it without that, and that isn’t actually making them better it’s actually making them worse as they will be more tunnel visioned until the next thing that gets them, then it’ll be that which needs to be removed.
This is why I say about the fact that you’re playing a game which has these things, and if you can’t handle those things, then maybe you should be looking at another mode yourself.
Not a suggestion of a new mode for you to be in, but to actually find another available mode because the game as it is, is your issue.
And the angle that has always ended up being the ‘my way or the highway’ in these suggestions, is the issue with any compromise, as there never is.
The second one person supports this sort of thing it sends people into a frenzy dreaming and making more ‘suggestions’ on how it can be further ‘improved’ to stop them dying, in an online game where killing is the aim of the game.
If you can’t handle the other end of the stick, then maybe you’re not in the right field…
I have long said to mix things up. Its ok to have some planes, but at times it gets beyond ridiculous. You need balance, and its just not happening.
Randomize the frequency and availability of planes. Anywhere from no planes at all to a lot of planes/ to only fighters, to only bombers, to only helicopters to a mix and so forth.
Also in higher tiers, if the maps are to remain this small, you need to factor that in.
And by the way… this is not combined arms. Combined would have infantry, which, lol, is a huge part of combined arms. As is artillery, mortars, mines etc. So the combined arms argument is a cop out
issue with arcade ground battle was it was too hard to get planes long ago so they changed it. now you get air spammed and with that combine with the 1 and out (1 tank players) makes it frustrating to get the wins you need to complete tasks. maybe if they put some computer run spaa at the spawns like they have on air battles this my help some. it also frustrating when you have half a team and you look at the mini map and see half you team are easy kill spaa s staying at spawn, you say , yup another lose. I also agree putting a column on number of kills with aircraft to ground and you will see who was relying on aircraft to get kills. Maybe ground battles could get computer bombers or attack aircraft when the team gets a certain number of kills, this way it keeps the player on the ground? anyways, ground battle needs the air spam fixed.
