Yes… With scan speed, I’m talking about how quick the radar “moves” back and forth on the UI, how quick it can scan the entire screen, it’s fast now but it’s gonna get slower and comparable to mechanical radars. However when a target has been acquired on TWS, it seems like it’s gonna get updates faster. In a practical sense I don’t think it’s going to matter all that much as the F15E is plenty fast enough already, the extra TWS speed is pretty negligible, but it is indeed quick, which I admitted. It’s TWS is not going to “scan” faster, but it’s going to update already acquired TWS targets in bars it’s not currently scanning to simulate IRL PESA
Right, well anyways. I think the SU34 radar might be the best in game for tracking a large amount of targets / situational awareness, however for BVR I still think the 29SMT or J10 radar beats it, due to 170° gimbal, being fast enough
Maybe now, but when they got released and before the fixes,R-Darter and Derby couldnt hit anything cause they just overshot the traget. Which is when i wrote that
1: I’m not expecting the Su-34’s flight model to survive to live. The Su-27 looked good on the dev server too and then gaijin hit it with the good ol’ Russian (negative) bias.
2: The Su-34 lacks an HMD, which in practice will reduce the speed that target locks can be acquired within ACM range and will dramatically limit the usefulness of its R-73s. These sub-20km ranges where the lack of HMD is most felt is the only range bracket where the R-77 feels like it can contemplate competing against other fox3s.
The R77 is one of 3 misisles that can be launched 90 degrees off boresight at a target 3.5km away and has the capability to hit it while you are still in a notch position.
The AMRAAM cannot do this, and in the current meta means you can maintain offensive capability from a fully defensive position while the AMRAAM carrier is forced to either stay HOT to be offensive or disengage to be defensive.
