Ammo crates dont add!

Yes, there is an imbalance in top-tier SPAA because there’s nothing provided to counter the Russian tech tree. Oh, wait—they did add counters, but they’re also in the Russian tech tree, so there’s clearly a balancing problem. We either need more SPAA options that can effectively handle top-tier fighter jets or a rebalance of existing ones. Both SPAA units you mentioned work well, but if you fire at everything that moves, of course you’ll run out of ammo. One SPAA can’t take down all enemy jets in a 16v16 match—it’s not a one-man army, for heaven’s sake.

I mean, hurtgen forest (conquest) is one of my favourite maps. It allows for actual hulldown tank gameplay.

The objective is dumb though, battle mode would suit it much better.

Having the ability to rearm without driving into enemy fire is a fairly self-evident mechanic to exist.

Ideally, I’d prefer objective design like Heroes & Generals did:

Which is basically the “Advance” gamemode. You have a fixed spawn very far from the battlefield (or in the middle as the final objective as defender to hold) with ammunition, repair, crew replenishment. You have capture points in between that allow for forward spawn in uncovered, risky positions to support the push and a pretty big map with a kilometer between those capture points/forward spawns each at WW2 levels.

Until we get something like this, supply crates are a decent alternative

Exactly. Better map design could solve issues related to running out of ammo. We don’t need more mechanics that will just introduce additional problems to fix, get bugged, or create new issues.

It improves the playability of certain vehicles. Driving to cap points in vehicles that can’t engage ground units isn’t something that’s good for gameplay.

This is a discussion for other thread, ammo boxes would help mitigate some issues with certain vehicles and could even be used as a balancing tool.

Their size can always be adjusted if needed.

Game that has 3rd person POV will never be realistic.

I miss just sniping tankers when they peeked

Map design could easily solve this, so that’s what we should focus on fixing

Why, instead of fixing one issue, are we moving on to another and creating even more features that will just need maintenance?

I would really want to understand the thought process of people that made this happen. UK and others could really use some HE-VT slingers in between basic SPAAGs and IR slingers, to help with fighting the heli spam.

I’m all for map design changes but it would require a huge work to implement. Ammo boxes should be a perfect stop-gap to help suffering vehicles.

Just give Britain a Rover with a LML Javelin on the back at 9.0 and we’d be happy :D

Not all vehicles will be great; some will be a grind to play, while others might feel overpowered and require little effort. But ammo boxes won’t solve this. A skilled player who knows their vehicle and how to play won’t struggle as much. Regardless, there will always be players who outsmart you.

Gaijin added 2 french SPAA in the 5.0-6.0 range, and moved another up from 4.3 to 5.0. There was also one added around 3.0 too. 3 new SPAA, and it was only made slightly better.

There is still a gap between 6.0 and 8.7.

Saw one guy getting nuke in a CAS called A-1H which is something very rare/unusual, because you gonna have to offset the amount of sp spent in it to be able to reach nuke requirement, watched some of his replays, dude is a CAS main that push objective, get a kill or two then spawn CAS, some matches he managed to get in the A-1H within 2 minutes after the match started. And his KDR ratio for ground kills is around 12.0 lol around 1,000 ish deaths with 12,000 kills, all that from ground RB.

i actually have a great example of something that needs ammo crates, the Bandkanon 1C. it only gets 14 rounds that go by pretty quickly with its reload.

ok so since you want realism lets talk about the repair time of tanks… this should be days, weeks , months to get things fixed not 5 to 40 seconds. are you ready to only play once per day, week, month ? unless you support only being able to play your tank in that time frame lets not talk about realism in video games.

This is still isn’t realistic enough I’m afraid, remember when the tank blows up, we stop existing, the forum will be the ones who hadn’t score a single death yet or never played the game lol

Strongly disagree. SPAA are not designed nor expected to be front line combatants. Forcing them to go to a front line cap point which may be only a single option to reload while giving airplanes and helicopters reload points that are strutted behind their respective lines is unfair and unbalanced.

If tanks have to fight for reloads all aircraft should also have only a single airfield for repair/rearming

Planes also has access to spawn points and objective area, I wish I could grab a rooikat and drive to enemy airfield to shoot these pesky planes while they trying to take off, since they like to drop bombs to spawn point lol

Read the next sentence too and maybe you get my point.
