Airfield Bombing

  1. AI planes do not fight back in EC. I create my own missions where bots can give you a hard time.
  2. Players who bomb bases or airfields do it not for fun but to farm. Some players have switched from hunting ground units (which is more fun but still not ideal because of the lack of a storyline + they cannot focus on it due to intensive PvP fights) to bombing bases, as it provides a more stable reward. Additionally, ground units do not appear as frequently as bases.
  3. PvE missions can be both interesting and challenging. I don’t really understand why PvP players view PvE only as killing defenseless planes flying straight or bombing bases. I have asked a couple of PvP players to complete my missions. It took them many attempts before they completed it.

Players who kill AI planes do it not to grow their stats but just to enjoy the gameplay.
I guess PvP players will never understand this moment.

That is why I create my own missions where I enjoy the game and game mechanics which are useless in PvP battles.

Most of the players consider game as entertainment but not as Top Gun Academy.

What do you mean even low tier? Flying old planes is much harder than modern top jets.
Also, finding targets and using weapon is much easier at top jets.
You should be a real fan of old planes to play them in sim.

You cant say some yaer is harder, every rank or every plane gen, has its own things, in ww2 you dont deal with missails, the result of a fight depelences mostly on the aircraft, since the only fight is a dogfight.
In toptier you deal more with the missails, locking them and avoiding them, but there is still the dogfight that is again about the aircraft but less, because the planes were build to be the best thay could, so the pilot skills comes and do a big difference.

So yes it is different but nothing is harrder then other.

I was talking about the very flying (plane controlling) process. For sure, flying a plane effectively against other players is hard always. But at least you can start practicing dogfight skills on jet planes much sooner than on WWII planes.

It does add to the air kill KDR, but ONLY if the AI is a bot using a player slot. To distinguish between an actual player kill vs a player bot. You have to mouseover the KDR value on the stats card.

As for the AI KDR. Mouseover will break down between ground/sea and air mission AI.

They are main reason why economy is in current bad state. Also because of them sim multipliers were massivly cut for events.

Those who bombed AFs had to purchase prem accounts in order not to go into minus. Hence, I do not think they were the reason for the changes in economy.
As I recall, it was bacause of sort of farmers that killed their twink planes.

Here you’re wrong. Back in 2017-2018, I was grinding the German tech tree. I bought the JU-288 and, within 1-2 weeks of bombing airfields, I unlocked the entire research tree up to the early jet fighters. I was earning around 750k silver per hour without boosters, and sometimes I activated a booster for a 30-minute farming session and could make a million in half an hour. I’ll look for screenshots of the results on my old PC, hopefully, they’re still there. Yes, I took advantage of a broken system, but only because the earnings from playing fighters at that time were incomparably lower than from bombers (usually 100-150k for a 2-hour session), and it wasn’t fun. Nowadays, things are different. You can effectively play fighters, and the need for bombing has simply disappeared. Bombers are mostly flown by ARB players (from my observations), who either try to make good use of boosters or just farm for marathons. In any case, they’re not a problem now because they’re easily intercepted and shot down.

I don’t fly old planes, so I can’t comment on them. My conclusions were about modern jet planes. You mentioned bombing AFs. Well, bombing AFs in top-tier jets is not very effective, so using unguided missiles became necessary.
From what I observed, only a small percentage of players were able to attack AFs without being shot down by AA defenses or crashing.
As far as I remember, these changes in economy and 15 min cycle were introduced after modern jet planes were added.
Also, I remember some players were bragging about the income in SB mode, but it looks like Gaijin were fine with that since SB mode was not so popular as it became with introducing of modern jet planes.

no offense but it seems to me that here someone is more likely to cry that they can’t attack the base. I play PVE helicopter tournaments and events. and usually it’s like half the people destroy ground tanks and someone destroys the base. It also depends on how someone equips their assembled machine. but no one is complaining about anything. and as it was said here that the player in question should report it, a player from the team can do the same. I also report automatic players when they shoot at me or crash into me without any excuses

It’s a realistic objective to actually go and bomb the airfield of your enemy.
Fully agree that someone out there would dislike that functionality being removed.

Botting is a problem though so maybe increase the lethality and range of SPAA there like TOR systems.

The reason why players usually cannot attack bases/AFs/ground units in sim EC is completely different from the case of heli PvE mode.

So you do that because you didn’t have potential to killing fighter?

Well punctuated. However, there is an “idigestion” of players who want to manipulate the game for “PvE?” and when you start killing them they still report you for all possible reasons.

In other words, if manipulating the game is wrong on the one hand, on the other the game mechanics punish those who follow the rules with messages like “players have reported you more than 10 times”. This is a way of punishing those who just try to play the game they were made for.

Isn’t that something designed to go wrong on both sides? Who will be banned for reporting so much, the player who killed 20 in 3 matches and got 20 reports or the PvE player who few report?

That message is only to inform you about being reported. That’s it! Don’t worry about it!

If you did not break any in-game conduct rules while playing. Just ignore it and go about your day.

It’s a common retaliation outcome they do to spam the report system in order to spite back. When a GM reviews the ticket and sees you did not break any rules based on the report summary. They will discard it, and move on.

However, players that continue to abuse the system can face consequences. Because at the end of the day. You are flooding the system with false reports and wasting the Game Mater’s time to review, and investigate, the matter in question. Delaying them from actually working on legit reports or assisting players in need.

So if they want to act salty and spam the system. Well, I say let them F around and find out. ;)

Those “ZOMBERS” arent someting bad, when you fly to bomb a base and than go back to your airfield, than its ok. But than there are those who bomb airfield, bombing airfields is also ok, till you dont die doing that. Those who bomb airfields with camikaze attacks, those are the players that should be punished as well as those who reportd you just because you killed them.
Its a players issue not the game’s, players join sim in events just to farm and play just for the points.
But in the end you as a fighter can score some free kills thanks to them.

Just as a little side note, in my observation there are veeeery few players trying to enforce PvE who actually report players for killing them. Guess they know that it may not be a smart move to get our attention: Throwing a hammer in the air is not so much fun if you have to be afraid where it actually falls… ;-)
