Airfield AAA Discussion Thread - Air Realistic Battles

Put an airfield at all destructible bases. Also penalise pilots who belly land at full speed at a AAA controlled airspacetrying to evade an attacker

How do you know they wont J out if you wont let them land??? You expect them to quit because it interferes with your timeline lol sorry bud dont try to fight someone trying to land thats the same as shooting a guy in a parachute

Lmao no it isn’t dude.

One guy is in a plane that can be rearmed/repaired and ready to fight in 30 seconds. Another guy is outside of his plane, unable to get back into it and is not, and won’t be a threat to anyone else later in the match. That’s a pathetic comparison.

Shooting a guy thats landed is pretty cool tho takes epic skill I mean its so hard to fly low and not get shot and shoot something not moving allways impressed me getting killed by a guy thats spent entire match not fighting then raking up 3 + people that landed

Basically never happens. Haven’t seen somethong like that since 2019 and before that I just dont remember :p

Lol if u say so my own eye’s tell a different story play 8.7 to 12.3 and dont die 7 mins into game

Then mention it’s at jet BR with completely different gameplay mechanics, jesus christ, jet demographic, high speed, low IQ. Keep landing with enemy nearby, keep getting slammed.

I usually don’t die in first 7mins when I play Sabres or MiGs but, players who do that are very rare.

As proven by the last posts: op af aaa is just a prop BR issue as jet BR af aaa is obviously useless (except for the poor guy in the Lancaster who got killed by a Roland some time ago).

No matter which position you take - the removal of af aaa on forward airfields was from my pov a quantum leap for the game play in general as the maps got bigger and on those maps with larger distances between forward and main airfield you have now a realistic chance to catch a critted enemy.

Yes, i see in every second or third match guys got strafed and killed on their forward airfields, but from a holistic pov alone the fact that they landed there was a mistake, so they got punished for it.

I mean the post describing 4 ground kills on the enemy af with a F-104 is a perfect example of the total absence of awareness in Air RB.

Basically i do agree that the described scenario (doing nothing and then killing 3 guys landing) is extremely rare in prop BRs.

But seeing guys with mid/late game airfield kills happens quite often - but individual experiences might be different, ihmo this depends on BRs, servers and daytime you play.

If you play Pacific maps you see a hell of kills of landing planes. Especially Japanese rookie pilots get murdered on maps like Saipan or Iwo Jima with mostly useless af aaa, Saipan is complete useless, Iwo jima has just one af with working af aaa - despite the whole island is looking like an af. Just Gualdalcanal (af aaa was useless on jap side even before the change) has 2 airfields for both teams, New Guinea has just one.

And i assume everybody posting here had at some point in time taken advantage of the useless (now fixed) af aaa on Golan Heights - me included. Getting 3 kills there was just a matter of timing.

But imho effortless kills of landing aircraft simply de-validates any good games you had before - so matches decided by strategy/tactic, positioning, skill, sheer luck or experience.

I had recently a Yak-3 killing 2 of my teammates on our forward airfield. He actually landed there and waited (i watched the replay) for the next guy to come in, took off and shot him down too. He ended with 5 kills - outturned and outfueled as last player of his team and crashing on purpose to deny me the kill…

With a minimum level of awareness at least the last 2 guys in both examples (including F-104 earlier mentioned) should have been realized that there is something going on…

So in the best case their deaths force them to learn and to improve.

And this is imho the point why i appreciate the recent change the most - the game play experience will get better if “newer” pilots joining Air RB will realize that this mode is not designed as a grinding tool with a low skill floor to play PvE or just to earn SLs in order to play Ground RB.

Too large “no-fly” zones simply prevented the need to improve or develop skills like situational awareness…

Guess what, most fights aren’t fair.

I have no idea how many times this has to be stated but it is entirely your fault for having to rearm/refuel when an enemy is still up in the air.

Yes its my fault for fighting and expending my ammo to kill opponent then reload gotcha your wisdom should be spread across space and time and maybe in the future your wisdom will bring peace to future of mankind

Learn to aim. I rarely ever run out of ammo. What are you doing? Spamming Yak-15 and BI 24/7?

okey dokey good advice I will go learn to aim thank you for the tip…

Bro go home with your 3rd party mods only guys that NEVER MISS use help

Translate: I have no idea how to save my ammo and fuels because I have massive skill issue.

Even if you do that, you will still have to re arm eventually. Nothing lasts forever. I shouldn’t be a free kill because I have a plane with very little ammo.

Gaijin gives too many planes the choice between 9 mins of fuel (great, but you need to refuel quickly), and 20 mins of fuel (makes the plane a brick) for AF AA to be nerfed.

The best solution to solve the AF camping issue is to only have AA activate when a plane is landed, and 15 seconds after that plane has respawned. It will prevent people from camping the AF, while also giving protection to those who need to land and re-arm/refuel/repair.

I know you’re not dropping 10 kill games every minute to where you have to rearm. You’re spraying and praying and running out of ammo quickly before the match even goes past 10 minutes.

Why are you making stuff up?

Everyone misses shots. There’s a difference between wasting tons of ammo and only missing a few rounds every time you try and kill someone. Go and search up what trigger discipline is.

Not a bad solution.

Yes this I actually agree with wow common sense so people can reload…
