yes but at least, even if its garbage to do, you can attack light ground targets OR other planes. I had to get the bomb mod for the D4Y2/3s by plinking at enemy fighters with 2 7.92mm guns in an attacker.
True, but americans make it an art with their absurd speeds letting them dictate stuff. It’s fun when you get a impromptu wingman as america.
Theres quite a lot of planes that can do same thing.
But if US does that more due to players… smart move
This is simply untrue.
Also wrong the F2 does, with every other powercreep mobiles ( Jas39A, F15A,Kfir C10…) slightly behind it.
And at top tier, the addition of the su30 had caused a mass migration of us mains, towards more handheld brackets, since now they had to fight something with actual hands and a big number of them too.
But now the rafale powercreep has caused france to stomp on everyone equally.
Matter of fact, whichever team has france on it’s side will most likely win.
I wouldn’t say handheld, but from like 10.7 up to 11.7 redfor has quite an advantage in terms of vehicles, with some some pretty op stuff like; Mig23MLD, J7E…
But blue also has it’s op tools at that br, most notably the A10C.
Every time I got into a 12.7 lobby before the F18 it was F4S Vs Mig29s and yak141s, usually 2 Redford to every blue for
Gripen can be on either team.
Kfir c10 isn’t that strong compared to the ice which has more missiles and better missiles.
Blue always outnumbered red, even more so since the F14 iriaf event.
there were also always F16s and f14s at 12.7 and F15s at 13.0, all of them are on par or even vastly better than the 29
The only relevant plane red has at 12.7 is the yak (too bad barely anyone uses it compared to the mig) and the mirage 2000 cs5 (but only if france happens to be on red).
Yes and? it is still op, arguably the 2nd best 13.0
Kfir might as well be better than the ice.
it has less missiles yes, but the derby might as well be better than the amraam in relevant scenarios, not even counting that the kfir has an aesa radar, an HMD and a superior flight model.
IMO from around 8.0 to around 9.7, redfor has an advantage. Then from around 10.0 to 10.7 blue for has a pretty nice advantage. Then from 11.0 to around 12.0 red for dominates, then from 12.3 to 13.0 blue for dominates (although German fa18 kinda saved 12.7 red for). And then top tier is pretty darn balanced.
If gaijin wants to balance 13.0, they should move su27s/j11 down (much worse aircraft than the f-2), while also moving down the British tornado ( I have no idea why it’s higher than the German phantom while having a much worse fm but ig Better ir missiles) while also giving the j8f its pl8bs. For 11.7/12.0, I can see them moving down some of the early pd phantoms because the British ones are already are a much lower br, so I can see them moving down the f4s/j which will help balance it a bit. (Also why tf is the f4 junk the same br as the American ones while being a literal worse British phantom essentially) For 10.7 to 10.0, the f-5a variants or corsairs just fry everything and the first us phantom having e2 sparrows are so nasty. But at the same time you can’t really move down something like the 21 bis (6 all aspect missiles even if they’re dogshit is no joke), so you can’t really do anything there. For 9.7 down to 8.0 it’s fairly balanced with an edge to red imo but it’s not too bad. And below 8.0 I don’t play
Still waiting they add SA-2 for airfield SAMs.
Punishing zombers are really needed.
Yeah, proper SEAD gameplay would be fun
Anyone else got an issue with OpenTrack no longer working in War Thunder? Was working perfectly 2 days ago
edit: Well after a alt-tab crash trying to fix it, its working now (I tried restarting twice before)
What’s going on with this game? We didn’t have 12.3 and 13.3 before, now we do, but there’s no 12.7. And they’ve just recently added several premium aircraft at 12.7.
money scam game) fine.
although they should have a way to make at least one 12.7 per rotation
But that’s really shooting themselves in the foot. I can imagine how the people who bought those planes for Sim must feel.
12.7 is the new 12.3, like how 12.3 was the new 12.0, so on so forth
and whats really dumb is that its theoretically possible to maintain a 12.7 bracket and add a 13.7 bracket.
Rotation 1.
Grey: Reduce bracket size to 12.0 —> 12.7
Pink: Reduce bracket size to 14.0 —> 14.3
Then that leaves room for a 13.0 —> 13.7 bracket in the middle.
Also you can see there are literally no fighters at 11.7-12.3BR in red forces, except J-8B.
I would like to spam F-14A and M2K C-S4 when patch is dropped but, would be hard to find decent games.
I don’t understand why they even moved j8b to 11.7… much worse than the 23mld below it in basically every single way
Yes, the planned new brackets solve some issue for some BR’s but the issue is shifting to others - and I realyl don’t understand why the brackets are yet again set up like this, because it would be perfectly possible to allow every BR to be top of a bracket once, with negligible negative effects - less negative by far that denying three BR’s that “luxury”.
I’ve analyzed the current state a bit, using StatShark, so here my little “essay”:
Current situation
Atm, Sim brackets are distributed like this, when we look at Top Tiers 10.7 to 14.0:
What is immediately apparent, is that three BR’s never are top BR in any of the four rotations: 12.3, 13.3, 13.7.
As players can chose what brackets they want to play each rotation, this fact actually affects the frequency the vehicles are played significantly, as this StatShark analysis of the numbers of matches played per BR for July 2025 shows very clearly:
What we can see here is that the top most BR, 14.0, is currently the most popular BR, with over 30% of all Sim EC matches played in the range 10.7 to 14.0 in July 2025.
And what we also can see is that exactly those BR’s that never are Top BR are almost not played at all! Aircraft of BR’s 12.3, 13.3 and 13.7 together were used in only 0.65% of all Sim EC matches from 10.7 to 14.0 in July 2025!
Note that those affected BR’s would feature aircraft I’d consider quite interesting and popular: F-14A Early, F/A-18A, Harrier Gr.7, Tornado Gr.4, F-4EJ Kai, F-15 Baz, Su-27, Su-33, Tornado F.3 Late, JAS39C variants, F-16C, Mirage 2000-5F,…
Planned rotations August 2025
The planned BR changes also comprise changes to the Sim EC BR brackets, extending the range from 14.0 to 14.3.
However, as before, some BR’s never are top BR of any rotation, this time 12.7, 13.7 and 14.0 getting the treatment described above:
So the assumption suggests itself that those BR’s will with the new rotations suffer a similar fate like the affected BR’s in the current rotations.
This time the effect could thus hit US and German/Swiss F/A-18C Early, F-20 (so that’s three premiums…), all early MiG-29 variants, and all F-15C and F-16C variants, JAS39C variants,… Again, very interesting and popular aircraft. Especially the 12.7 aircraft will feel a lot of pressure from this, as this shift means they’ll move into “Fox 3” country…
Why not create fair brackets for all BR’s?
The brackets could be organised differently in various ways, here two proposals that are simple, pragmatic and - at least as I see it - with little risk for complications:
In this Proposal 1, only the BR 14.0 would never have “its own BR”:
While in this Proposal 2, all BR’s would at least once be a Top BR:
Potential drawbacks of this, and arguments why they could be irrelevant
A possible drawback I can see is that some rotations would only have one or two BR’s in them, while up to now the minimum was 3 BR’s in a bracket.
This however probably has probably only little negative effects, as already now the BR’s just adjacent to those BR’s are currently almost never played anyway.
Another possible argument could be that if a bracket only has one or two BR’s in it, it will be impossible for players who have not yet reached tose BR’s to not participate in those rotations.
This argument however would be completely discardable because of those two points:
-
the topmost BR is the most popular anyway, and players already shy away from playing the BR’s just below! Remember: Currently 30.5% play 14.0, only 0.2% BR 13.3 or 0.3% BR 13.7, respectively…
-
All other BR’s below 13.3 already now have the situation that they can only join rotations with higher top BR’s if they have reached an aircraft that qualifies.
Have you tried bringing this up to the developers? Or maybe through @Smin1080p_WT ? Because to me it looks like an excellent solution to the problem.
