Air Simulator Battles - General Discussion / Support HUB

Theyre a bit… boring? the only thing you can do in them is try to use skyflash and run…

Yep… That is pretty much it. Cant even bomb all that well in them either due to the horrifically bad HUD.

Why I usually dont play that bracket except maybe the GR1. (which is somehow still 11.7)

Down to the F-15 to lose the fight actually… you can defeat an amraam, u cant defeat a f15 once its within 10km of you

I have played the F-4E in sim. You are underestimating the F-4E’s radar and probbly non-PD radars in general. I get sea level locks pretty frequently.

These are Americans we are talking about… I spend half my time just defending against them myself, and im on their team

Bruh…

That bracket isnt that bad.
You literally can just slap skillissue guys in mig23. quite good for events

This is how it is on any team I play on, regardless of side chosen. Jets are ass for this reason

All non-PD radars ive used, like Blue Fox, Blue Parrot, the Sea-Vixen’s and Lightning radars, etc etc are all useless at low alt. So it may just be the F-4Es.

I think the F-4E is very close to one of the best non-PD radars, so its possible…

Farming Zombers at that BR is one of the ways I grind the events. But I just dont like the Phantoms (personal preference more than anything else) and I see no point trying to play the FRS1 (SQV). Id much rather take the Tornado GR4 out into 12.7/13.0 matches or play something at a lower Bracket like the FRS1e, Buc S2, Jag, etc.

Unrelated: I am spading the Japanese tree in sim only (besides the ~25-30% of japanese planes I already had spaded) and they are a staggering mix of useless and overpowered. So far I have played 1.0-4.7

Japan is quite easy to play. But also not hard to avoid them in right way
But not sure is that possible at low ranks tho

@RunaDacino plays mostly props. I want to get into them, but havent done so yet. So he can probably advice there. Though I’ve heard the F-5E FCU is a tad OP

I mean that some Japanese aircraft are piss easy and play themselves like the A6Ms, and some are super mega ultra useless and you wonder why they aren’t 1.7 br lower. You can just run from the A6M all day but any kind of entanglement never works out in the other aircrafts favor if they stick around. You can’t even use historical tactics against them because their energy retention and compression (or lack of it) heavily overperform.

In my experience, Mustangs can whoop the deck with zeros if they have initiative and play it methodically. Make it two mustangs, and the zeros will hate their life.

Fighting competent america is nightmare because they decide if you fight or not and don’t let you run away or get out of disadvantaged situations.

Casual 600 km/h is no joke.

Had a further thought on this.

I think the effects of Ground clutter are massively muted in game as well. Like iirc, Mirage III radars basically dont work below 3000ft irl. In game, they work fine quite a bit lower than that. So that may also work in the favour of the F-4E

Shoutout to the D4Y2 and D4Y3s starting with no bombs/rockets/torpedoes but also the plane only has a 2 7.92mm MGs with a stupid binocular optic scope as your sight

Or the P1Y1 ginga who’s best loadout is 2 bombs who cant destroy a base and nothing else

or the ki-109 holy the ki-109

Thats true for a lot of planes, flying in squad is always better

Im tempted to work on a post about stupid stock grinds. Like Jags and the Etendards start with guns only as well. Which is really dumb for strike aircraft .

I am referring to any historical tactic that relied on the Zero’s tendency to compress at even medium speeds (not just high) or the zero’s lack of energy generation/retention. The former (compression tactics) don’t work at all and the latter only work if you fly very carefully and play energy very well.
