What?

You talk about stuff like this:

12.3 aircraft like the M2K CS4, F-18A, F-14A, etc etc being unfair vs 11.3 aircraft like the Mig-21 (and also at 11.3 the Mig-23) with I assume the idea that as you ALWAYS insist upon, adding permament brackets instead of shifting brackets so that these aircraft will never face each other.

My response to this is simple. If you want to play an 11.3 in an 11.3-12.3 bracket, expect to face 12.3s or play a different aircraft, one that is ideally 10.7/11.0 instead.

Not every aircraft should be viable in every BR Bracket, not with the current compression at the very least.

The current rotation system is awesome and shouldnt be changed. Aircraft that are viable in 1 rotation might not be in the next but now something else is viable. Keeps the “meta” ever shifting and means every single aircraft is viable. Also balance is SOOOOO much easier because you only really need to worry about +/- 0.3 and not +/- 1.0. Its a lot better.

There are aircraft at the wrong BR. Like the F-14A should be 12.7 and Mig-23MLD more like 11.7/12.0. Then there is just compression issues, like 12.0-13.0 is a mess, but again… that isnt ASBs fault, if anything, ASB its actually not too bad, but its god aweful in ARB currently.

So I shall repeat what I previously stated.

If you dont like “being seal clubbed” in a full uptier Dont play an aircraft in a full uptier bracket. Pick a different aircraft at a different BR.

Do you not see how this negatively impacts population numbers?

The same argument is brought up at korean/early jet BRs.

“Don’t want to get shot at by heat-seeker missiles in your horten? Don’t play 8.3” Meaning, if you’re a horten enthusiast you cannot play on 7.7-8.7, 7.3-8.3.

(yes, I have zero games in the Horten. I can’t afford to even begin to spade that plane, much less learn it despite thinking it looks cool. She exists for test flight joyrides).

Is that healthy?

What other solution is there?

Random MM like in ARB?

Popular aircraft would just drag everything up. Like for example 10.3-11.0 aircraft I like to play would just be unplayable 100% of the time because Id be forced to fight against Mig-23MLs 100% of the time.

No thank you. I like being able to load up ASB, and pick non-meta aircraft and actually have fun in them because im not forced into full uptiers 100% of the time vs meta aircraft

80% of the air tree i do not touch in ARB, because you only fight full uptiers and you are DOA.

100% of the air tree is viable in ASB, What is viable just changes from day to day.

Thank you for stating the obvious problem.

By your logic rationale people should only play the planes that are the best in the bracket. Let’s actually follow that logic for a second and look at some hypotheticals.

If it’s a day where Ariete is at the top of the BR…then the logical choice for experienced sim players is to play the Ariete. If everyone that is experienced knows that the Ariete is the best and only wants to play the Ariete…then who is left to play against it? What other 9.0 planes in the game are even remotely capable of countering it?

What if it’s a day where 7.3 is the top bracket and the F-80C runs circles around everything that isn’t an Su-11? By your logic it makes no sense to play the Me-262 or any other aircraft at that bracket. So who’s getting seal clubbed?

Days where 7.0 is the top bracket? Well better break out my Su-11 when it’s finally not being punished by the F-80C.

If it’s 12.3 day then we better shelve all of the MiGs and break out our F-18s. Who is going to play against that?

So if every experienced sim player follows this logic of only flying the strongest plane of the day…then who is going to be flying against it? Predominantly noobs and farmers. Well it’s the noobs fault for not playing the meta and joining the enemy team…so they should just quit the game. And they do.

One proposal/idea I had was to severely discount SL spawning costs on aircraft that are under the top BR:

Notabene: I submitted this suggestion like a year ago. Judge me with that in mind.

So what is the alternative. Random MM like in ARB?

Lets use your examples.

Want to fly something anything between 8.0-8.7. Well tough luck ,you will probably be fighting the Ariete every single match

Want to play anything 6.3-7.0? well tough luck, you will probably be fighting F-80Cs and Su-11s every match.

Want to fly a 12.0? Tough luck, you are probably fighting AMRAAM slingers and Gripen As at 13.0.

Sure, you might be able to increase the likelyhood of people playing lower BR aircraft in a bracket. But I still dont see why an 11.3 should somehow be truly viable in an 11.3-12.3 bracket. If that 11.3 was competitive against that 12.3, it wouldnt be 11.3 it would be 12.3

Air RB matchmaker limits things to only up to 4 of the top tier aircraft per team so most matches are relatively balanced.

Also there are other suggestions out there as well. Maybe not giving free easy mode BRs to certain planes would be a start. People would probably play other planes in 8.0-9.0 if Sea Vixen and Ariete were at higher BRs.

GL with that lmao.
Mig-23ml is already overperforming, and is not going to be changed even after being reported for overperforming by around 0.5-1 g at most speeds.
Mig-23mld? Time to fork up 300 bucks for the mig 23 mld manual if you want that. we only have mig 23 ml manual

How would static br from 12.3 - 13.0 hurt? It would’ve been nice if the semi active f16s didn’t get aim 120 and sent up to 13.3. The su 27 and j11 could go down 13.0.

Except its straight not.

Like I said in another comment. 80% of the TT I straight up DO NOT TOUCH in ARB because im uptiered constantly and yes maybe only 4 players on the team are 1.0 above, but aircraft 0.7 above probably will steam roll you just as easily.

Javelin for example. Tried a few matches recently. Every match uptiered to 9.3 against Hunter F58s that instantly killed me, but im basically a free kill for anything above 8.3.

Sure. Can help balance BRs, but likewise Ariete and Sea Vixen shouldnt be deleted from the game out of spite. Both would be DOA vs most 9.7 aircraft

Multiple 12.3 aircraft would be DOA because they cant compete against 13.0s and now 13.3s are DOA because they are only fighting 13.3-14.0 and never get a chance to get a downtier.

Let alone the fact that 11.0 aircraft wouldnt have much of a chance against 12.0s. Though would be fun seal clubbing Mig-23MLs every single match in the Tornado F3

So not only would 12.3s have to struggle against 13.0s every match but now have to struggle against 13.3s every match? And what about the rest of the 13.3s? Are those just meant to be left DOA? They only just got a playable bracket

They would both be fine at 9.3 BR.

Red Tops would need All-aspect

Otherwise might as well delete it from the game. There is no way you genuinely think that a Sea Vixen = Hunter F6

Lol no they wouldn’t.

F-106 has equal performance missile on a supersonic platform at 9.3

Sea Vixen = F-106?

Heck does Sea Vixen even match the performance of the Hunter F6 at 9.0?

My f18 is so disadvantaged!!! Ugh!!!

Morvran said it buff the f18A!!! He said clear as day.

F-106 shouldn’t be 9.3 either. Also F-106 missiles do not have proxy fuse.
