what do you mean bombers are still really useful imo, in a squad with mates weve singlehandedly won battles quickly in B17Gs and B25J by bombing bases and then the airfield and getting a few kills along the way, especially at this rating 109s get outclassed by later Spitfire versions and OP twin engined interceptors and gunners can just take out stalling fighters. maybe if you play solo then its a different story but even in just a group of 3 bombers are super strong together especially the tankier ones.

In my pov and current status, bombers in this game are nothing more than a waste of time and resources.

Well, every bomber squad which I saw was nothing but bigger prey, 3 Lancasters burnt by a single Bf 109K easily, with no effort at all

Complaining that a night bomber is unable to defend himself in bright daylight is strange - i mean there is a reason why the RAF BC lost 11.965 bombers in WW 2 (8.325 lost in action) even in (mostly) night attacks.

Imho you played just a handful of matches with your mentioned B-17s and B-25s and lack the necessary long term bomber Air RB experience - the fellow player @Stockholm_Blend is right with his general view on things.
I remember wiping out a complete 4 men squad (with highly experienced bomber pilots) flying in perfect defensive formation at 6 km alt (3 Bv 238s and a Pe-8 as top cover) - with a plain SM 91 (was at Rank III, so around 2 years ago) without even a scratch - 3 passes, game over…

Although I would rather have an overhaul on the gamemodes like the suggested AirRB EC, I don’t see why we can’t have instantly respawning bases whenever one is destroyed as a band-aid solution for now
