What I am going to discuss here is decompressing top tier from 13.7 to 14.0. Since it is a 0.3 step, it should not be terribly hard to do. As a result, I would like to group certain planes together to represent the 13.0 to 14.0.
Firstly, let’s address the elephant in the room - 13.0 is a weird BR. The F-16As are leaving it, and the Su-27 and J-11 are joining it. This has the exact OPPOSITE intention of decompression - we are now compressing 12.0 again.
The solution to this recompression problem is NOT to move planes down in BR. Rather we should be moving the ceiling up to 14.0. Here are my proposals for this decompression.
12.7:
F-14A Early
F-16A
F-20A
MiG-29 9.12A (Germany)
MiG-29 9.12B (Italy)
MiG-29 9.13
13.0:
F-16A ADF
F-14B
F-14A IRIAF (USA)
F-16A ADF (Italy)
F-16AJ
F-16A MLU (Taiwan)
Netz
13.3:
F-15A
AV-8B Plus
MiG-29G
Su-27
Sea Harrier FA.2
AV-8B Plus (Italy)
Mirage 4000
F-16A (France) (could also maybe fit 13.0, more decompression is necessary)
J-11
J-8F
JAS 39A
F-15A Baz
13.7:
MiG-29SMT
F-4F ICE
Tornado F.3 (Late)
14.0:
F-16CM Block 50
F-15C MSIP-II
Su-27SM
JAS 39C (Britain)
F-15J(M)
J-10A
J-11A
JAS 39C (Italy)
Mirage 2000-5F
F-16AM (France)
JAS 39C
F-16C Block 40 Barak II
F-15C Baz Meshupar
F-16D Block 40 Barak II
This spread that I have laid out not only helps 12.0 remain relatively decompressed, it also creates more room for better top tier decompression. Please consider this path instead of compressing high tier jets again.
Instead of compressing BRs at top tier, we should be doing gradual decompression to address certain issues.
I think this is reasonable though I disagree with the MiG-29G’s placement- flight performance is subpar, radar is pretty terrible, and R-73s can’t hold a candle to AIM-9Ms.
I’d have, under this system, all MiG-29s except the SMT at 13.0, with R-73s but no R-27Es.
I made a topic a bit ago talking about how I’d change top tier aircraft (it doesn’t include 14.0 though)
It’s a weird change from Gaijin. They made great progress towards decompression by raising the ceiling to 13.7, and instead of riding that high they’re essentially rolling back part of those changes. I really hope they decide to move the ceiling to 14.0 and move all the powerful fox3-capable jets up 0.3BR each instead of moving some potent 4th gens back down.
This is so fucking stupid, they had a golden opportunity to decompress top tier ground with tanks that are objectively outclassing the rest in just about every conceivable way, as well as the planes… and instead decided to move it all up and keep it as the same bullshit.
Stop handing Italy, Ger and Swe their BS handouts at top tier. Move them up, if you want a 2a7 you should be playing at a higher tier.
There is no reason a leclerc, Bvm, Abrams, challenger, Merkava, (whatever the fuck tank China uses here) and type 10 should be in the same BR as a 2a7 or Strv.
Even though I know it won’t happen because it would force them to fix other nations vehicles, or create new editions to make them as competitive.
They still have, limiting the BR roof only 12.0 is crazy, this doesn’t have any effect as most of the other tanks got 0.3 or 0.7 BR above, specially for 10.3 and 10.0 vehicles.
How is the F8U still untouched? If Gaijin truly are changing BRs based purely on statistics then that thing should go directly to 10.7 with no questions asked, while in reality it’s not even on the list. Biggest miss in the entire table.
J-7E is also strangely absent.
Other questionable changes are the Mig-21bis and F-5C. The 21bis was incredibly competent after the first round of decompression and was only held back by the F-14 swarms which are being moved outside of 11.3 range anyway. Now it will be an absolute menace and will wield 6 all aspect missiles against flareless jets quite often (J-35D, F-4C, F-105, etc. aren’t even a full downtier away). And for the love of God, can the F-5C please not handhold wallet warriors for at least one full patch? For the first time since its release it was perfectly balanced at 11.0 and now for some reason it’s going back to clubbing 9.7s.
And why are we still balancing jets in ARB according to bomb loads? Su-7 is just a worse MiG-19 but will now sit above it. Just because people brainlessly basebomb with certain vehicles doesn’t mean they should be made unplayable for those that actually play them as fighters. In fact that only makes the problem worse and cements them as vehicles only good for killing one base and then dying. F-4C is also a victim of this.
The only changes I agree in the entire list are the A-5C and F-4EJ. And I was seriously looking forward to the next set of BR adjustments. What a fucking mess…
I disagree. The MiG-29G’s radar is quite bad, but the R-27ER and R-73 definitely make up for it. The flight performance can work, it just requires more work to get it to perform how you want it to perform compared to something like a F-16A, F-15A, or JAS 39A. It still has great missiles and HMD (which recently got 20km range). I agree it lacks countermeasures and has an anemic radar, but it by no means should be the same BR as the F-16A ADF/MLUs.
I somewhat agree, but I find it hard to balance. The MiG-29s definitely need their R-73s, but losing the R-27ER is a huge blow.
I agree with the MiG-29s all getting their R-73s (maybe barring the German one since that’s the whole point of the 29G, but it could match the others if the 27ERs are removed), but they certainly would not be 13.0 if they kept the R-27ER. Having HMD and thrust vectoring IRCCM missiles alongside the R-27ER facing only 9Ls and 7Ms is ridiculous. 13.3 would be perfectly fine as is evident with the MiG-29G.
Fixed and added. Reminder that I simply moved them up 0.3 from where they currently are in game.
The jas39a is 13.0 aircraft it is out run by the f16 and has no long range radar missiles that can consistently hit 8km+. It is more manoeuvrable and has 9ms which is an advantage but not decisive against f16s and mig 29s.
