Yeah that always happens, it’s so frustrating
I would like a separate choice for ARB EC, its a near necessity
We are trying.
damn the polls have 1000 votes already, is that enough to tag the community managers?
They do, and they have been stable for quite some time now. It might be enough. I’ll start writing the post now, they can always check the polls again in a few days if they want to.
I think the last big poll about multipathing also has around 1000 votes, I don’t think we are going to get much more.

Hi, this thread has been going for some time now and we believe now is the time to get Community Managers involved. We would like you to do a few things for us and also ask a few questions.
We would like you to read our original post and also the polls we made yesterday. You don’t need to read the entire thread, I tried my best to include feedback as additions in the original post, but you are welcome to if you want to.
We think that our issues and concerns with top tier ARB are valid, even if some of our proposed solutions could be better. We tried our best.
Is Gaijin open to implementing a gamemode where these issues are addressed, either in form of changing current ARB or making a separate mode? We feel that there is a big enough audience to entertain this idea.
If such thing is possible, we would like to hear your feedback on this topic. And if it isn’t we would still like feedback. Either way, we want transparency, We want to heard.
Now regarding the polls we made yesterday.
Let’s get the most clear cut polls out of the way first.
A large majority of participants have enabled the option for smaller battles but are quite unhappy with how often they get them. Also majority has stated that they find these small matches more enjoyable. 90% of voters also said that they would like an option to exclusively play these small matches, even with increased queue times.
It’s pretty clear that people want to play these small matches, so why not give them an option to do just that?
Another pretty clear result shows that people want top tier planes to have full sets of countermeasures available stock. Just like you made flares stock when more advanced IR AAMs started to get added, we now want you to do the same but for chaff as well. More precisely, remove the default flare/chaff modification, and make it stock.
Participants also found the grind for top tier planes to be hard or near impossible now. The gap between stock and spaded planes grew even larger with this update with the introduction of ARHs. Stock planes can’t touch spaded planes for the majority of the match, simply because of the range difference.
We think that top tier planes should get 2 radar missiles stock, and most voters think that those should be of the active variety. You decided that 2 IR missiles should come stock when they started to dominate top tier. Is it possible to do the same again, this time for ARHs?
Before I address the ARH and multipath polls, I would like to point out the last poll. Majority of voters (around 60%) found top tier gameplay to be overall worse than last update. The interesting part is, I don’t think this is because of ARHs and mutipathing at 12.7-13.0 since around 60% of voters voted that they actually like them. I am no data analyst, but I think this means that people are unhappy with other aspects of this update and not it’s gameplay addition and changes.
Regarding ~10.3 to 12.0 planes without good radar guided weaponry most people voted that they don’t like playing them. Around 35% of voters stated that they like playing some such planes, perhaps the ones with amazing flight performance or IR missiles.
In another poll regarding the same BR bracket most people would like to see a BR rebalance for planes that do carry good or excellent radar guided weapons. Would this be possible? I would also like to mention here that we don’t want to make these planes unplayable, so increasing a BR cap by 2 or 3 steps would be necessary in our eyes.
As for the multipath change, votes are pretty close to draw much conclusions for both top tier and ~10.3 to 12.0.
Thank you for your time. We are eagerly awaiting your response.
Have a good one!
Almost forgot to mention this concern and I said I would. Please comment on this as well.
Gaijin should setup air RB matches like ground battles, Give us two airfield spawns to the battle can be split up more conveniently in two directions, Evenly changing the battle from 16v16 to 8v8 left, 8v8 right.
Assuming everyone splits up evenly, not as reliable but at least something
99% of players will gun it down the middle, so just placing the airfield in a different line-of-sight
Airspawns should also be considered more upfront in battles and more common. I hate the flight to battle, Literally just a unsatisfying time-waster until I meet the enemy. Gaijin should make the maps WIDER, not LONGER
Widening the maps provide the space for battles, while keeping the area short from runway to runway ensures players reach the battle much sooner.
Multipathing should also be lowered back to 50m, Nobody wants to keep flying at sealevel and it’s a really bad meta the community has gotten into, It’s time you learn how to deal with these missiles.
If anything I think chaff should get a slight buff to encourage players to stop hugging the ground
I would agree that playing the br bracket of 10.7-12.0 is quite annoying if you are in a plane without radar missiles. For this example I will use three planes that I have played in the last week: MiG-21bis, MiG-23MLA and MiG-29 (9.12a). The matchmaker at this current time usually puts 11.3s in full uptiers. I only have data for the MiG-29 at 12.0 but based off my experience, majority of games in 11.3 (and to a lesser extent, 11.0) were up tiers to 12.0 at least. Facing MiG-29s and F-16s with the r27ER and AIM-7F/M in a MiG-21/23 with an RWR that doesn’t even have launch warnings is frustrating and requires you to hug the deck in order to multi path the missiles. However since the multipath altitude has been lowered, doing so is significantly harder. Planes like the MiG-21bis, MiG-23ML(A), F-4S, Mirage F1C and others almost exclusive face 12.0s like the MiG-29 and F-16. This BR range (11.0-12.3) more likely than not, is together almost every game. This means while in my MiG-23MLA with an awful RWR, I almost always face MiG-29s with Mach 5 missiles that have a 20 km range. There is almost nothing I can do to fight back, especially due to the relative short range of the R-24.
From the perspective of the MiG-29, I almost exclusively see downtiers to 11.3 or below. I’ve played 30 games. 2 of which have been full uptiers, 15 of which have been downtiers to 11.3 and 14 of which have been full downtiers to 11.0. This has made the two R-27ERs I have almost guaranteed free kills every match. Most enemies don’t even know I’ve launched at them or just don’t fly low enough. Flight performance also has a significant gap (for instance with the F-4S) and while this is understandable, since these planes face each almost every match, it isn’t fair.
I love the fox3 gameplay but it doesn’t work with current AirRB gamemode and ridiculously huge team sizes.
I have been losing interest in the game, mainly top tier. Its far too repetitive and short, and at the same time chaotic in the sense that your skill/strategy doesn’t matter much because you are overloaded and every game results in a fast snowball of 8v1 for half of the game 7min duration.
The best experience I had with modern Fox3 missiles was on the initial Fox3 play test and the following update dev server, because in most matches there were only 4-6 human players on each side.
I would be happy with 8v8 at most but if I had it my way, I would prefer the whole gamemode reworked along the lines of OP suggestion.
I think if we keep 16v16 with reworked big maps with multiple pve objectives will still result in a snowball against one of the teams really quicky because most will just fly to the middle of the map anyway and die within minutes.
Making a new SEPARATE gamemode with ±6v6 in big maps with more relevant actions other than pure TDM would also be a good option, because I think most casuals would still prefer the normal boring 16v16 TDM 5min matches. While giving the others a chance to play a more interesting and skill based gamemode to have fun.
By ignoring these requests, gaijin, you are splitting the community anyway and making higher queue times because people are simply losing interest in the game and go play something else
Multipath should be not a stock value but depend on missal generation and airplane position. So if you shoot from bellow or same hight as the airplane that fly’s low it should not be a issue.
If the shooting airplane with radar missals is high then the older the weapon the higher the ceiling of confusion. people forget that its not the radar of the shooting platform that matters but the missal radar and they are less advanced and sophisticated. There is to much to process.
All top tir´s should star with there full loud out and grind much better upgrades for the weapons.
You start with heat seekers of first generation and first generation radar weapons’ and you grind to get the better versions that are more advanced.
BR´s should not just be a stock value but depending on loadout of said airplane.
Please stop putting redwoods everywhere. The Hight of the threes is ridiculous.
So the multipath was 100 meters the size of the trees is 60 meters you got 40 meters of space.
Now you lowerd it to 60 and the trees stay the same so multipath got removed in total and this is not taking in the fact that terrain dips and raises and you never full level expect for desert maps and big lakes.
This was suggested multiple times and was shot down every single time unfortunately.
Stock grind is going harder and harder, update after update. We need quick grinds, i have a f premium account and take to much of my time grinding. Some of us have f jobs! If we pay premium accounts and talismãs, we need to have a lot better rewards!
Speaking of possible stock top tier grind alleviation, I honestly think there should be EITHER adding 2 ARH missiles stock OR giving chaff from the getgo. It’d be too easy to grind with both of these changes imo. If you get 2 ARHs, you can get kills, but you die a lot more until chaff unlocked. Then it becomes much easier. If you have chaff from the start, you mostly learn how to defend from FOX-3s during the grind, which makes sense to me. By the time you get ARHs, you already can confidently defeat them, so the gameplay become much more enjoyable in general. That’s my take on it.
Also multipathing change is awesome, BUT older missiles with worse seekers should be defeatable at higher altitudes than modern FOX-3s. So maybe some additional code for FOX-1s would work out, without BR decompression I dunno. If Gaijin reworks BRs from 10.3 to 12.0 in ADEQUATE way, I’d take it
i think at most they should get at least 2 SARH missiles
I hope this actually makes a difference but I wont hold my breath
I mean its totally fine if they just put back the multipathing
i only play Simulator battles for now, i need to say i didnt struggle to get the JAS39C with the JAS39A that much (having a talisman and premium account), obviously i have enough experience to know how it works and how to fly every plane i want to fly, but i see this update a positive change, the multipathing is still a thing that i do and works perfectly, now yes you need to fly little bit lower but if you can’t then learn to do it, other than that i find the ARH or FOX3 missiles realistic compared to DCS for example, but they need more range tbh, there is no need to Nerf or Buff those missiles, they can be evaded with the 9-3 tactic and other tactics, i found the War Thunder tutorial video very helpfull too (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8-cLvniyuM), lets be honest, we all want a realistic game and not a innacurate game, good job war thunder
Im here to correct the thing with dcs, i mean they are similar but the range is lower in wt
I think Enduring Confrontation while maintaining the OG RB for the ones that want the old deathmatch format would be amazing for our current game
