I dont know if its your interest but do you happen to know some stuff regarding pl-10? Its probably the most interesting next gen fox 2 to me.
Basically no one knows anything about the PL-10, occasionally I’ll check on Chinese websites/socials and no one over there knows any specifics with any amount of certainty. China is extremely tight lipped with their military equipment.

I figured as much I’ve never seen anything on it.
I saw the 3.5s figure on here before, might have been kizvy, i rhink there was arguments on that though.
at the time i tried to find test fires of it to at least check if the 3.5s is accurate but i couldn’t find videos of that online

you do realize the IRST is already in game along with the Aim9x-2, considering the Kinetic stats are unlikely to change when they are added to planes the 9X is already better than the IRST.
Isn’t IRST faster though? (in game rn)
it has more trust over all but less acceleration and a lot more drag so it slows down way faster once the motor burns out.
in a general air rb meta the 9X would be the better choice in every situation

9M is perfectly fine and has the best IRCCM out of all of the IRCCM missiles.
If you can’t get kills with it, that’s a you issue. You need to get better, not ask for better missiles.
i think the real issue the 9M has is the fact that it cant do anything to defend you in a close in situation like an r73 can, in most use cases the 9M simply gets kills you could have gotten with an aim120 anyways since both are bad at close range.
Personally i would love a 9X FM with the an identical seeker as the 9M since i think that would be better for the game balance wise.
It has that tradeoff though of being unflarable 99% of the time in rear aspect. Usually when I fire a 9M in rear aspect within anything less than 3KM, I can expect a kill. Same cannot be said for the R-73.
While yes, the U.S doesn’t have close range options, that’s just kind of the play style. Avoiding dogfights is something that’s already a pretty good idea for the U.S with all the Si-30’s and Su-27’s around.
I think that any iteration of the 9C would be too powerful. The IRCCM of the Aim-9M is already the best in the game. Giving it that and the ability to dogfight would be too much.

The 9M isnt harder to flare rear aspect than an R73, both are pretty easy to deal with from the rear at that range if your not trolling. side aspect is where the 9M excels at over the r73.
except the su30 is already better at fox 3 combat by having the r77-1 so its not like there’s some tradeoff here for having better close range missiles. it simply has the best of both worlds.

I dont know how you wanna fire a IRST (Infrared Search and Track) at a enemy to begin with, You want to throw your entire plane after it?
Maybe you can do it with a IRIS-T (Infra Red Imaging System Tail/Thrust Vector-Controlled)

Iris-t is the most overrated ir missile in the game. Less maneuverable than aim-9x while also having less range and overall performance.
Yeah, only thing I’ve seen is that pl-10e has ±80 degree gimbal and it can turn 90 degrees in 1 second.
And then pl-10 has a boost + sustain motor for 3.5 seconds
