FIX THE AI aircraft in RB so that they are not flying Chucks Norrises!!!

This is exceedingly rare. You’re overreacting.

Not interested whether rare. It hapenned to me like half an hour ago.
The AI aicraft are simply bugged. Flying sniping Chuck Norrises.

No. You’re overreacting to a rare occurrence.

I think the last time I died to an AI plane flying in ARB was… Literally never. Unless I crashed into it, which to be fair has happened once or twice.

This sounds like an absolutely insane skill issue to actually die to one.

When I saw the title I though it was about its speed or that in top tier we can still see Mig-15 (I haven’t play Top-tier recently)

What I can tell is that at leat a year ago or so when I played the most in ASB I saw people being shot down by AI planes

If you get shot down by one of the AI fighters playing on the Enduring Confrontation-style ARB maps - That’s a skill issue, especially if you’re in a superior aircraft.

If you get shot down while going after an AI bomber or attacker - That’s also a skill issue because it means you got way too close and their tailgunners had the perfect chance to just shotgun you.

Man, I remember the days when the AI bombers and attackers were actually a bit of a challenge to get on to shoot down. They never should’ve nerfed them, honestly.

Im assuming hes been shot down by the rear gunners of the AI IL-2s or SB2Cs or something like that. Its the only explanation I can think of.

Some A.I attackers ARE kind of cracked. I refuse to engage A20s in my Tada’s Ki-61-I on Port Moresby because they just eat shells and have a bubble of death.

However, more often than not you can avoid issues by maintaining very high rate of closure and using fast slashing attacks from wherever the target’s blind spot is. With this in mind, AI planes are beatable even in cockpit view with joystick and rudder controls and no autotrim/instructor assistance.

Imho the OP is not entirely wrong. The issue occurs quite often at prop BRs.

Your individual perceptions are like mine anecdotal and might deviate, but i see daily multiple players getting sniped by ai gunners - and even the ai Fw 190 F-8s score kills if the chasing player gets too close and hit the SC 1.000 under their bellies - the blast kills or severely damages players.

For me it looks like that the ai gunner skills have also a kind of RNG factor implemented - so in one match you see a player killing all 6 ai planes in one attack without a scratch, in the next match they one-shot players from 0.8 km.

Even as an experienced player you get killed if you attack from blind spots - i got killed more than once attacking Il-2s attacking from below and shot a wing off and the Il-2 flipped on their back and pilot sniped you with a single shot fired in a split second.

I won dozens of matches by leading multiple enemy players chasing me near own ai aircraft circling as a whole group of 6 somewhere on the map. All you have to do is active an order which motivates one or 2 enemies to give up the chase and go for them. In a lot of cases they killed or damaged those players which increased my chances to win.

It is basically the same as when you fly the He 162 on Bourbon Island - if you are are playing 1 vs all you can drag enemies low near own ai tank columns, the ai M163s kills usually one or two of the guys at your six. This requires of course that you have memorized the locations of these columns and planned your flight path long upfront…

If you play Air RB i recommend to avoid targeting any ai plane with a gunner actively attacking ground - based on my observations the ai gunners are kind of buffed especially in this phase and on “high alert”.

It happens it’s just so ridiculously rare that it may happen to you once and not happen again for literal years.

I’ve been playing since 2014, and I can recall on one hand being pilot sniped by an AI’s gunner.

I have never had bot aircraft in a live-server ARB match. But I have on the dev server and I find them extremely easy to beat in a dogfight and kill.

Really? You’ve never had those maps where each side has a bot flight of attackers? At lower tiers they can be IL-2s and the like; higher tiers they can be F3Ds and the like…?

Oh those ones. I thought he’s talking about matches where the opposing team is bots (like you get all the time in NRB or on the dev server). Not the objective aircraft.

The objective aircraft though are even easier to kill

wait until get 1-tapped by SPAA when you innocently fly over a convoy

There was a brief time a few years back where AI AA was on steroids, either intentionally or bugged I don’t know, but you’d go down to strafe and immediately your airframe would start turning yellow then orange then you’d start leaking water and/or oil… it was somewhere just less effective than airfield AA, but almost as deadly. It was a real pain in the butt. I wanna say this was like 3/4 years ago? It didn’t last long thankfully.

Still exists in ASB unfortuantely. has done for the past 2 years

It happens in ARB too because sometime you get sim map in ARB

Yes but even those sim style maps with full model ground targets don’t do what I was describing. What I am talking about was a unique situation that hasn’t popped up again in a couple years.

This happens every few hundred matches at prop BRs - mainly on less populated servers outside peak times in small lobbies.

I witnessed exactly 2 player kills of ai F4Fs (Wildcats) - one was a Do 217 bomber, the other one was a Fw 190 A. They both went head-on vs the F4Fs and got killed.

But the topic is ai planes and not bots.
