AI planes in RB

i got killed by SPAA in rocky canyon pretty recently

I’m pretty sure there’s F-86 in the Spain map. I don’t know if it’s still there, though. i got killed by one long time ago

His confusion was ALREADY cleared up. Please follow the discourse better.

calm yo tits, bro.

Grow up, “bro.”

You got killed by an IA plane? Idk chief, sounds like a skill issue to me ngl

^ top tier player, and spaded vehicles in most BR brackets.

This has never happened to me.

Did you remember to turn your screen on before playing?

Please read my entire quote correctly, and also know that it’s still POSSIBLE to get damaged by ground targets.

Don’t purposely misframe and quote out of context.

I remember it happening in the bourbon island map even in 5.7?

In one side you could find gepards and get one-shot by them

The only times I ever died to ai planes was in prop tiers where they’re attackers with defensive armament, and that’s basically like fighting a player’s bomber so it’s fine. In any other case, I have no idea how you died to them

One thing I feel that A.I fighters could cause an issue for players is…

  1. They don’t experience prop torque or low-speed handling issues. They don’t stall in general. This is less notable in ARB for people who fly with mouse aim or simplified, but can cause issues with realistic and full-real controls.
  2. They seem OBSESSED with looping (and will continue to do so without regard for energy or handling issues until you reset their logic)

These two added together, if someone doesn’t realize they’re fighting an A.I plane, could lead to them getting energy trapped and falling out of the sky trying to dogfight an a.i plane.

I base this observation on my own unintended dogfight against an A.I A6M3 in my Tada’s Ki-61-I Hei on Zhengzhou (1946) wt sim map. I have actually recorded this dogfight because the A6M3 actually seemed more competent than some players I’ve encountered: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFY1dIfxGf8) (reason it’s more competent: it actually does energy traps/out of plane maneuvering rather than flat turn on deck). (you can observe the wacky aerodynamics in this clip in fact. The A6M3 was inverted/Borderline knife edge while somehow gaining altitude and “floating” mid-air without losing control. This goes against what feels intuitive/logical when flying prop planes).

Furthermore, I base this observation on my tendency to go fly against A.I planes to practice gunnery and handling when changing between prop planes I main in both the Mission Editor and Custom Battles. I have observed Stukas doing some insane acrobatics that violate every expectation I have of them (they love flying inverted while doing a vertical). It’s honestly kinda hilarious watching the shenanigans A.I aircraft execute with their magic flight models (which if we start observing jets break the game: Community Bug Reporting System - cl13 sabres flying at ~mach 1.0+ while propoising like a dolphin on crack due to them being programmed to fly between waypoints under fixed time. This occurs at the end)

Consequently, I believe the best way to avoid dying to an A.I plane doing infini-loops is to do what I did in the linked clip: Unloaded extension when you realize you’re fighting A.I to make it stop looping. There seems to be some sort of logic that dictates whether it flies in a straight line versus goes into infinite vertical loops. Unloaded extension seems to reset their logic and make them fly straight.

It was mig-15s and i never knew they could shoot at you until this clip. They don’t exist anymore though.

I didn’t even know those plane shoot players.
Only time i died to one was to it’s bomb, pretty sad story.

Dang I’ve never seen a bot do that ever… Anyway credits to you for playing the mystere 2, it’s kinda painful to play

AI planes still uncover your playerbracket to every hostile player. Thats far more worse, especiall at high tier with all those long range missiles.
