Good job on the Vagueness wanna tell us a number on how many is considered mass production? cause every country has a different number for that and it also depends on the vehicle size as well. Since to some countries 20 might be considered mass production for a medium tank, however less for a heavy and significantly less for a light tank.

Generally mass produced is made on a production line. And then there is put into service, its all about ratio’s, a low ratio unit can only be obtained via a GE auction this will enable gaijin to make some money. A high ratio unit can be purchased via SL. medium ratio units can only be used 1 per day due to service costs etc

I played the 2S1 recently for a laugh really, not my thing at all normally. I went out to the center of Finland ,sat behind a rock and one shot killed five Panthers who came down the hill.
A 1970 vehicle vs 1944 and it showed. Five shots, five kills and possibly five very frustrated long term Panther players who were wondering what the hell was going on and why their world had suddenly changed and they no longer had faith in their weapon of choice taking a few from the front like they always have. Quite simple, they were in an outdated old a tank from WW2 vs a 1970s-gun firing 120MM HE at them and killing them from the front. They had to get a plane to bomb me in the end. Just the introduction of a 70s beast in a WW2 line up did that. If you are into WW2 then I am sure you would be reaching for the off switch there.
It is not just an immersion issue anymore, it simply makes playing an old, slow outdated tanks pointless. Those things relied on Armour and paid the price in weight and are redundant in the game now as they would be in reality.

None of the tanks you mention just wipe out a Panther at its own BR with one hastily thrown out shot from distance from the front. It was so easy it was comical. After nearly 12 thousand games it was noticeable and unusual as well and along you come to tell me it never happened lol
We see what we see in the game. 6 BR is becoming a place where you don’t want to be in a heavy old tank just as playing Israel at the early tier in a Magach at 7.7 is just wrong and uncomfortable, especially in the uptier ,a sad mismatch of era and technology. Defend the indefensible by all means, keep going lol.

Impractical?, dude everything you have said has been impractical, no one wants to face a Tiger II in a M22. Every match. No one wants a Short barrel 75mm fighting a panther every match.
I don’t want a M46 Patton aka M26E2 fighting T-54/T-55’s. No matter how you look at it. Your idea of “Hey vehicles 1 year apart should fight one another” is not going to work. some vehicles were produced 1 year apart from a heavy tank or a medium tank. Some of those tanks are also built on WW2-era equipment produced and designed for the changing of war a prime example is the Pansarbandvagn 301(PBV-301). The chassis is from WW2, the gun is from WW2. Except it was built in the 1960’s till 1971.

Vehicles like the M109 have several problems, the first and most serious is that they have a completely stupid damage model, you shoot them and you only kill one or two crew members, sometimes you hit the ammunition and they don’t explode and with the HE they can destroy any tank with one shot, this makes them a disaster in levels where many tanks depend on their armor. Honestly I would look into correcting that rubbish damage model, but in any case all tanks like this with HE could perfectly be in Br 7.0 a 7.7 without any problem, and even the Swedish premium at 8.7 to 9, since 155mm HE + laser rangefinder = death and destruction.
By the way, in the game in which I killed the most tanks, 19 enemies were destroyed, with the 2S3M, without dying and without spending more than 22 bullets, practically all with a single shot.

So where do the prototypes go? They weren’t deployed. And if your getting away fro. A balance system how do you determine what you face? How long do you face off with these vehicles? The system doesn’t work. It’s narrow minded, full of flaws, makes for u balanced game play, huge gaps and battle wait times all so you can play your?? Tiger?? And be invincible.
