Actually due to the cas problem that many are crying about, how about making a tank only mode that is historically accurate
SIM is where the game suffers most now. Very little Sim about it as far as I can see. Mixed nations and same tanks on both sides. Gaijin destroyed it’s own game. Boxed itself into a corner.
I actually agree with your OP but as we can see the game is a million miles away from that now. You really do have to suspend disbelief to play War Thunder now days. Some days I can and some days I just turn it off. I’m turning it off more and more as it gets stupider and sillier. I am also dropping down the BR to around 3-4 now as 5-6 just got spammed with modern junk. I am not the only one.3-4 is a better game.

I agree gaijin are destroying there game. Like i said above maybe time for a tank only mode and start by keeping it simple to historically correct. I like playing centurion mk1 but its constantly uptierd and i see such stuff like strike master above me
Nothing could be more 70s than a Strike Master to me, to see it in a game when I am playing a WW2 German line up is just something I can only laugh at…or turn off the game depending on mood and CAS spam.
The issue for me is I feel the game is going that way more and more and I will play it less and less and the main thing is I wont commit to buying premium for a year anymore as I am not sure what I am committing to.
How bad will WT be in six months? Getting CAS spammed by 70s and 80s Jets while out in a Tiger E? The people who think that is a good direction for the game must be the same people who think Rebel Moon and Rings of Power are amazing shows. We just keep bowing to the stupid. WT getting more woke and ridiculous with every update.

I think the issue is that gaijin keep pushing for a younger audience that brings in money that dont realise the game is broken and when they do realise gaijin moves onto the next new player, thus producing a game with a short life cycle, why would gaijin be intrested in keeping an established player base that dont spend money

Issue is that most players dont want historical mm. Gaijin tried it a few times in events and it failed. Certain nations were ahead in tank development at one point or another. Not to mention all of the vehicles that were not designed for head on armor combat
War Thunder was never WW2.
War Thunder public access went to Sabre, and in-fact we still have the same cockpits from 2012 for the Sabres.
Top tanks went cold war. M47, IS-4M, etc in the open beta. And was definitely cold war on War Thunder’s official release in 2016.
War Thunder was never a WW2 game.

The Sherman.T34, Panzer IV are all a great fit for each other and were a great era match, Gaijin had it right then and you trying to talk BS about it is laughable.
Like I said it was a very narrow spectrum though and understandable Gajin wanted to move on to what we have now and I don’t see them going backwards.
Is it a game killer? Yes for some and no for others. Some will stay some will walk away.

Its only lunacy if you are expecting historical mm in war thunder. The lunacy is watching people do some pretty funny things sometimes. Like hiding an asu57 under your tank so they can pop out like a little support gunner

Most people who get into the game expect exactly that and up to a point they get it. Its only at later BR it falls apart which is why so many stay and play at a lower BR.
Not exactly. Most people stay low because top tier is full of sweaty tryhards.
Luckly, there are some more historical-like games for people to play if they want.

Not at all. I am one of those who won’t go above 6 for the reasons I mentioned. Very little Future Spam at lower BR
