Add traditional Match Maker to current MM

Don’t you think 1 year is a bit too constrictive

M48 versus T72?

Yeah, can’t wait to fight a KV-1 in a Panzer II and Panzer 38t!
Can’t wait to fight an IS-4, IS-3, T-44, T-44-100, T-44-122, IS-7 in a Panzer 4!
Can’t wait to fight T-54/55s, in a Hotchkiss H-39 (you know, the tanks that is utterly useless as a reserve tier).
Can’t wait to figh Leo 2s, Abramses, T-72s in the Concept 3!
Can’t wait to fight T-62, Centurions, Conquerors, M60s in a Panzer 4/Jagdpanzer 4!
Can’t wait to fight the most modern MBTs in this thing (yes, a Stuart with a 90mm Cockerill):
xbOXjUY
And these are just the ones i can quickly remember.

You know, for example, WWII would have well over 95% win rate to the soviets. We have enough russian bias cryers already.

EDIT:
Ah, sorry, don’t forget these:

Also, many T-34, SU-100 tanks are still used even these days…

The T14 was a completely different tank to the Sherman. Yes looks vaguely similar but it is not a Sherman it was its replacement that never went anywhere cause it would have been too expensive when the Shermans were being mass-produced and at this point became an all-purpose vehicle.

Another thing why in the hell are you aiming for its UFP? Another thing I have played American tanks and you know what I do exactly what I stated. I just don’t play them too often.

Bro the T14 was literally a Sherman enhancement project

“The Assault Tank T14 was a joint project between the United States and the United Kingdom with the goal being to produce a universal infantry tank.”

“At the meeting of the Joint British Tank Mission and United States Tank Committee in early 1942, the question of designing a medium-heavy tank or assault tank was discussed. It was stated that the US had no requirement for such a vehicle, but that the UK had an urgent need. It was agreed that the US should develop and manufacture two assault tank pilots based on the M4 Medium”

Based≠Same vehicle.
It is like trying to claim the M46/M26E2 Patton tank is still the same as the M26.
There have been so many changes to the design that it is a completely different design when the final product is available. The T14 is not a Sherman, there are completely different designs. When you use the word “Based” it refers to parts being compatible to ease maintaining the vehicles.
This means tracks, engines might be compatible with other Sherman parts however there not the same vehicle.

Or how about Pz. IV’s facing Israeli Chieftains? We could have North Korean T-34-85s fighting M1IPs. Why stop with just ground? Let’s have F-86s and MiG-19Ps facing F-16As or German F-104s fighting MiG-29s or MiG-21bis versus Israeli F-15s. We could have F-22As fighting F-4Es. Russian WWII props would get curb stomped, too.

There are nations that still use the Sherman and the Chaffee as their MBTs.

The main issue with a historical MM is that it’s anything but balanced. I for one wouldn’t want to fight a Tiger II with a T-34

The closest we have to hisyorical MM, is sim, and the only battles that are relatively balanced are cold war sim battles. It’d be unplayable for new players

Tiger 1 entered service in 1942.

The first 76mm sherman, Firefly, and T-34-85, the first allied tanks designed to be able to actually penetrated it, all only entered service in 1944.

That alone is enough to automatically invalidate even the idea of historical matchmaker.

War was not designed to be fair. A game is designed to be fair.

The WW2/cold war gap is not even that bad, not compared to the gap transitioning from no stabs to stab+thermals

Finally! Someone said it!

hmmm
do you mean like it was in the 6 days war in 1967
when T-34/85 fought against Centurion’s with 105mm L7 guns
or Panzer IV fought against M48A3 Patton tanks?

read it here

Even mighty stalinium couldn’t prepare for the powerful “preemptive strike”

Same gun as Panthers.

Slightly weaker, still can bounce shots due to angle and guns typically having slightly less then 60mm at 60°, especially when at distance/ angled.
It also feels way much faster.

It’s in-game a German M10 unless you count the Ersatz “M10”. Also, you’re right it couldn’t tell since the muzzle is different.

Yeah what happened to the ones in Africa

I thought you were adressing prototype Panther or VK30 02 M, as it was the prototype Panther and had slightly worse armour but everything else the same.

They at least stand a chance.

Israel used H-39s in the '50s…
Germnay went with Panzer 2s against KV-1s.

Those have literally no chance.

simple, create a new historical game mode, whoever wants to play fiction plays, whoever wants greater difficulties and more realism chooses the other

That’s not simple creating another gamemode is going to take away from the other 3 because people will realize “Hey isn’t this just sim”. Which means no one will play it.

That’s right, that cod/pubg and minicraft players go to these other games and let a game with potential have full
