No, its your “historical battle” that will have no one play it.
World of Tanks tried it years ago. They put like 3 tigers vs 8 T-34s/shermans. For example.
They found one fatal flaw: everyone wanted to play the Tigers. No one wanted to play the Shermans or T-34s.
The same will happen in WR thunder. I know for a fact I definitely wouldnt want to play a “historical” match where im in a 75mm sherman vs a tiger 1.
The concept is dead in the water before it even begins because of that. People complain about uptiers enough already, do you really think they’ll willingly say “yes, Im going to intentionally play my 3.7 M4 sherman vs 5.7 Tigers”
One option would be to start with a certain amount for spawn, heavy tanks require a larger amount, with the possibility of planes at the beginning of the game, and with aerial maps for aviators to bomb air bases or prevent tanks from taking points, Developers need to update themselves as the game is becoming outdated
The entire point of decompression is to make it so lower BR tanks don’t face tanks deserving of higher BRs.
When BRs are raised and vehicles go up along with it, you go from Tiger Es playing with Leopard 1s, to Tiger Es playing with a Kugelblitz at the maximum. It no longer faces IS-3s. It no longer faces T-32s. Once it was raised, other things were raised as well.
What, so the PT-76B should be 7.7 or so? Sure, yeah, that would be perfectly fine if this was a performance based matchmaker. A PT-76B, despite being a postwar tank from almost a decade later, does not at all fare well against anything past 6.3-6.7. Hence its BR of 5.3.
If you want historical matchmaking, play Simulator battles. As of currently writing this (00:14 UTC, Jan. 18), IS-2 1944s are facing Tiger 2Hs, and ISU-152s are facing Panthers. The only cold war tanks are M-51s (literally shermans), Ikv-103 (ww2 chassis with early 1950s gun), Wiesels, and so on.
Original shermans where 4 years earlier, anyway 4680 shermans mediums tanks with the 105 gun where produced and 415 jagdpanthers which is a Tank destroy is about a ratio of 11 to 1. If you counted all the shermans it will be a bigger ratio. Its realistic when it suits
If we’re going off of the basis of “b-but did they fight together?!?”, then we wouldn’t have a matchmaker to begin with.
you might as well be playing Panzers on the Steppe.
The British faced most of the Tigers in Germany with the Comet what they didnt face was a howitzer from the 60s or1980 so your point is moot really. You are kind of agreeing with the OP.105 vs the Jadgtiger makes more sense than a Tiger E vs M109.
Fact is we should have era based line ups and long ago we did. It must have made sense for a little while. Those days are long gone, and we have the stupidity we have today.I do not enjoy facing a parade of any old thing in this game,it is the reason I didnt stay with WoT. Now we have it and bad.
We can’t go back in time; we have to accept a bad thing about the game. That does not make the OP an idiot for wishing the game was better.
Im not to worriedd, im just getting gritty with the current MM that uptiers 90% matchies unless you play a particular br band and theres so many TD’s in some of the teams
I haven’t the slightest what you’re trying to say here, nor does it really matter in the grand scheme of things when the topic at hand is a poorly thought out concept of how to “rebalance” the game.
Maybe badly thought out, but that is the point of a forum to discuss these pros and cons, mabe someone will think of a solution and boy i hope someone does.
Very few people on here have all the answers. One might imagine in a forum of decent people we might all work together to figure it out instead of trying to be negative and clever in a pompous way. Too many ass hats on this forum and moderators attacking the wrong people and defending the wrong people.
The OP makes sense even if at a basic level. What the hell is it with 80s AFVs vs WW2 anyway? Who supports that rubbish in a supposed realistic war game?
