I started with AB. It was fun back in the day up to the Me 262’s and Ho 229, but that game mode is not “it”. I wanted something more so I moved onto ARB, which was very fun before they removed historical MM.

Thing is I started seriously playing ASB at the end of last year during the air event. But playing the same 3 maps and same 3 objectives in them over and over and over got boring really quick. Not to mention the open cockpit VR squad tryhards running around dunking on everyone.

I still think RB is (could be) the sweetspot, if they invest some time to actually develop it past the TDM beta stage it’s been for a decade.

EC has more objectives than any other mission type in WT. Complaining about too little to do is kinda weird if you prefer RB.

VR is also a disadvantage in SB. The advantage comes from track ir.

I play mainly ground and naval. I still enjoy playing because there are still vehicles to unlock and play, but the gameplay has become stale. It’s just a grind that they are trying to cover up with continuous events and battlepasses for vehicles that are otherwise unobtainable outside of the marketplace. Don’t get me wrong, I like to see new updates and new maps, but those are the equivalent of putting a different color icing on the same flavor cupcake. It’s still just the same old grind, and I’m honestly getting to the point that I don’t look forward to new game updates nearly as much as I do the events that come around once or twice a year for a few weeks. When was the last good PvE content update? The only thing that comes to mind is the Sturmtiger event, and that only lasted a few weeks. When was the last new game mode that got to be a permanent addition? I can’t think of any within the last six years I’ve been playing this game. War Thunder has so much potential, but it feels like it’s just being wasted.

Its little things that ruined a great game for me.The map changes , just removing all the cover and destroying old maps was a big one.Spamming 6br with artillery was another.Just little badly conceived game killers that stopped me playing and now I look at the grind ahead of me and I can no longer be botherd.I am angry that a good game is constantly tinkered with.

Guys…it is a free game. It gave me HOURS of fun…with admittedly some annoying moments at a time…

BUT…in the end of the day…i only play what is fun…would make no sense to play a game i dont like…at least for long…

SO i dont get someone saying that they played something they didnt like for “years”…you can go do something else…when WT annoys me i have other games, beer in the fridge, sometimes sun outside, kids wanting to play something, lots of alternatives…

for arcade is another game, which is much much better, if you want to play just arcade. I do not even think arcade is action, it is just clash of bots in my opinion. nad this bots have come to RB, that is also one of the reason the gameplay in RB is horible now, because of this arcade thinking guys.

and for thsi gaian, there is another much better product on the market.

WT can be excelent in the midle, but they do not care, or I feel it like they do not care.

Ah … this is always the same argumentation. do not play it if you dont like, do not, do not …

No offense mate , but this is not about if you like the game or not. If somebody does not like this game, he has already quit. This is about that we like the game, we just do not like what is hapening to it, with every update. You see it absolutely wrong, this is criticism not whining.

I also play another games, WT is not my main, it is not worth to be main game no matter how much Gaijin want it to be.
But, yes the game is free but also it baits players to invest into it and not small amounts. 70€ is AAA game worth, not one vehicle in a game, where your experience will be BS. And I do not want newbies to expect to much from the game, from the top tier. It is not worth to grind to the top tier ASAP, because as I said, there is no endgame, there is nothing at the end to be excited for.

I hope there will come a day, when even Gaijin realise how wrong they are, and how stupidly complicated is their progress in gameplay, or game experience for the player.

Example the new one : They will try to improve grind, with some bonus from first game in the day, or something like that. What an unbelivable complicated way have they chosed. First the problem is not only grinding the vehicle, but to spade it, when you are forced to paly with stock, with HEAT rounds against enemies with ERA, multiple games until you get thevehicle in a shape it can compete.
And the solution is in the game for 12 years already.
It is called RP, they call it free research points, which they are not becasue you need to use gold to use them. And there is also the stupidity, if you have to use gold why you need some RP? the price is there already 25SP for 1 gold eagle.
They can just let this RP to become free RP, but real free RP- Player will decide if he wants to use them to grind vehicle or any module.

And there us plenty of examples like this, where gaijin is just doing things complicated, or their mindset is 15 years old. And as I said, i do not whine about how the game is, or I do not feel it is unfair, etc. I am just criticizing it for how it is, so gaijin knows not everybody is happy, because they gave me some decal.

None taken. I have been on the forum helping, commenting, suggesting, bug reporting and sometimes trying to improve the game. I can understand THAT^^

My point was different…

Someone gave you a product that you used for 5000 hours, i assume you enjoyed at least half of it…and apparently for a very low cost…i dont get the negativity.
I dont get why you would prefer NOT to have had that fun…and if it was not fun, then i don’t get why you would insist 5000 hours…

I stopped playing games i didn’t like anymore…and i will stop playing WT if it starts being a chore…i actually stopped playing air battles…so game is not perfect for sure.

That said…it seems that your main gripe is the grind…and that i can also agree with you…it takes too long to get to top tier and it is too “expensive” to play modern vehicles…and i no longer play battle pass also.

BUT…game is a lot of fun up to mid tier. I simply warn several players that want to play top tier (jets or MBTs) that it may be tough to do…

I sometimes complain about the economy and hope it will become easier to play modern stuff…but that does NOT delete the fun i had getting here and the fun i still have just playing what i already got.
Eventually the grind will make me play less…but until then i have fun playing…

You make some good points as usual.As someone else said some where ,those who don’t want to play this game anymore have gone ,those who still play but come on here to complain hope for the game they love to return to being a game they can love again. OK its no direct quote but you get me, right?

So is anybody listening in Gaijin land? Or are the old veterans either F2P or paying, unwanted and undervalued and wasting their time on here?

Player burnout isn’t usually the player’s fault when the community has been asking for new game modes for both air and ground battles. Playing the same domination-style, capture 2 or 3 zones, or team-deathmatch based air battles for over 10 years, is not fulfilling.

I understand what you want to say, but I am also saying your argument is wrong, or let say only half true. yes the game was fun, it was much more fun then it is now.
No I am not low cost player, I pay for premium acc and also have bought some premium vehicles. I understand somebody has to pay the bills. I am not complaing as F2P, but as paying customer.

I still hope , the game will change, that is the reason why I am playing, but not so much.
And for you to better understand players like me, I will give you an example:
When you live in a country you like or love, you also do not move to another country just because right now the goverment is not the one you voted for. You keep liveing ther, pay taxesm complain etc in hope it will change with next election.
Right now the game has changed, the game managment is listening to wrong advisors, but this can change. Post like this are just to remind them, there are also players who play it longer and see the game diferent.
I fully understand new player, who is excited, he does not know the game, he does not see all the bugs, mistakes, faults. Who does not see the potencial and how this game can be, becasue he just researched his Tiger, and the model is so nice, and it takes away all his attention from the small things.

Do you know why rewards for some challanges are so small? 100, 1000 SL? That are rewards which are in the game from the very begining, when repairs cost were sometimes 80SL, and prize of top tier was 30 000 SL. It is 10 years they have changed the economy first time.

What is PvE ? Basically you are fighting bots with wallhack and aimbot, together with other random guys, from position which is the worst on the map, with degraded gun, which is not accurate. each mode has his own failures, but most visible and most representative how Gaijin works is helicopter PvE.

There was time they have changed sounds 4 times per year, with every update, but they have no time to fix PvE and make it fun. Where newbies can learn something. There is lot of things they do and nobody is asking for, but minimum from what they are asked to do. Every update repair 20 bugs and implements 25 new. You know what I mean, right?

I am not here to argue with players about if I should quit or not . I like the discussion with players, if they come up with their own observations. And maybe we can put together a list for Gaijin, the next roadmap. Maybe they will listen, I do not know. But I do not want to spend time arguing, why I am still playing the game, and why I have not quit, etc.

The Snail’s greed has led to a point where veterans are leaving because they get burnt out or see no further hope. Whenever they add new mechanics it’s - 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

I’m keeping an eye on player numbers at the moment and compared to the last 10 years, WT has never experienced such a slump in March/April, despite events and April Fool’s Day.
New players are coming in, and it’s difficult to judge their long-term quality

been watching player numbers the last two months and its not like it was at the beginning of the year which was 210,000 plus now it more like something like 160,000 on a weekend so where have all of them gone? Personally I blame this severe damage you get in game for the decline in numbers.

I think that’s just one part. When I hear the frustration echoing throughout the forum, I’m not surprised.
Personally, I’m at a point where the snail doesn’t see any money from me for the time being.
Especially as I was really looking forward to the aircraft-BR separation in the game modes and now nothing is happening in the low-mid tier area, although CAS can be really strong in the 5.0-7.0 range if you don’t do anything about it.
Another point that worries me is the event design. They don’t even stick to their own event cycle guidelines for half a year and are already working on it again.
The quality of the players is also questionable at times. Well … for me, there was a time before WT and there will be one after. Even though I really love the game for what it could be.

almost every not demonetized video on youtube which has something to do with weapons, army and combat starts with War thunder advertising. So yes Gaijin is spending a lot on social media. and current wars are helping him. People who are looking for situation arround Russo-Ukraine war or Israel - Hamas war will sooner or later see it, and because they are ineterested in the war, they will try the game. The real statistic is how many of them manage to grind lets say rank 7 or two nations rank 6. And what in my opinion says the most is Gaijin statistic saying 80% of the players have never spend a single 1 dolar on the game. This is what I as salesman call fail, epic economy fail to be honest, such an enormous waste of sources, time and potencial.
From my side if they implement the new BRs, this autumn will be the first time I will not prolong my premium account, also losing any intention for new premium vehicles and as recomened from other players, i will move to small BRs, seal clubing newbies and have fun there. for the few hours per month I am spending in this game it will be enaugh.
