British rounds are bit worse
Rest are a bit better
Yeah then I guess something changed. BEcause I distinctly remember literally every other shell except one having over 20mm more pen.

First French doctorine second Gaijin is pretty much butchered Leclerc’s armor in many way.
Leclercs armour is just bad
In return Chinese tanks have better survivability thanks to their armor and recent addition of spall liners to VT-4 family.
Honestly I love my both Leclerc family (except you ugly S1) and VT-4’s, despite their problems they are so fun to play.
The only reason the 2S38 isn’t performing better is because most folks play it like an MBT. They don’t go hull down, they don’t try to flank or anything like that. They straight up drive out into the open at enemy tanks. Because almost half the time it works out anyway.
If you see someone who actually plays the 2S38 smart, it’s an absolute menace. And you can see it uptiered a lot, because it still works at much higher BRs just fine.
I tested this theory myself when I bought 2S38 on last discount, when I positioned myself on good spots like I did with my MBT’s it performed very well and gave me quite nice results.
But when I tried to play like an idiot who thinks it can use it as MBT’s result was pretty much mixed, half of the time either I got one shot or destroyed enemy MBT’s.

Yeah it’s the same with the proxy shell. It performs much better than AHEAD. Because GJN decided to gut AHEAD and make it a downgrade, somehow. Which allows you to actually threaten planes/helis which aren’t careful.
Couple days ago I played my Chinese SPAA the one before the new addition.
AHEAD munition on that thing worked surprisingly fine but I think main gun’s rpm was also the big factor in that.
AHEAD only works in that spaa. All other AHEAD cannons just suck.

Gaijin uses pre production model values, in fact those values coms from Greek trials which Greek army created those values based upon on AMX-30 due to GIAT not sharing exact values.
Irl Leclerc’s armor is much better than this, especially from SXXI.

They used Swedish values on M1A2 family and Leopard2A7V (which both of them also wrong).
Swedish trials explained that the version of Leclerc they tested is not matured enough while Greek trials pulled random number from AMX-30 armor values.
