With the new battle pass vehicle being the FIAT 6166 UB, I wanted to revisit the battle ratings of a plethora of 20mm rapid-fire vehicles. Frankly, they don’t make sense at all.
The new battle pass FIAT can 1-tap a T-10M from the side with its rockets.
Yeah, it’s situational, but I found that with testing it was pretty easy to guarantee a kill from the side if you spam 4-5 rockets at the target.
But the rockets aren’t that important. What I am more frustrated about is the 20mms with DM63 at 6.0.
There are a variety of vehicles with the same or very similar cannons at the mid-tiers:
FIAT 6616 UB at 6.0
U-SH 204 GK at 5.3
TPK 6.41 VPC at 5.7 (with 2 oerlikon 20mm cannons)
AMX-10P at 6.3
SUB-I-II at 5.3
R3-T20 at 6.0
Ystervark at 4.0
BTR-ZD (performs similarly with 23mm cannons) at 6.0
Weisel 1A4 at 7.3 (comes with thermals)
Luchs A2 at 7.7 (comes with thermals)
Type 87 RCV at 7.7
Marder 1A3 at 8.0 (comes with MILAN guided missiles and thermals)
Then there is the XM800T at 8.7. What differences set the XM800T apart from the rest so substantially? There are other rat tanks on the list, other vehicles with scouting and UAVs on the list. Other vehicles have significantly better secondary features such as MILANs, thermal optics, laser rangefinders, etc. etc. So what gives?
You could put the XM800T at 6.0 and I would still rather take the M18 due to it actually being able to destroy tanks and being pretty similar in mobility.
So yeah, I’m once again annoyed at how the XM800T is treated. I think at minimum it should be moved down to 7.7, and more realistically 7.0-7.3.
