1 Death Leaver Solution

really? why then it gives about 50% of all rp?

Spoiler

rewards needs to be for kills, and not for time stayed in match.

Oh look, another intellectually braindead jackhole trying to propose one of many garbage " solutions " to " fix " an issue. Absolutely foolish.

How about Gaijin address the issues that make people ODL in the first place that are entirely seperate from prem vehicles? That’d be a better start than this garbage.

I agree one death leaving is a huge problem. I’d be okay with a global crew lock on every nation. It’s literally game breaking having so many one death leavers. One game a week we have everyone bringing out multiple vehicles and each person has 2,3,4 deaths. That one game a week. That’s the issue.

Or, you must have x amount of vehicles of the BR your joining. But then snail won’t sell as many premiums so that won’t work.

Almost every other PVP online shooting game allows players to come and go from the game whenever they want without penalty. These games are not falling apart and the matches aren’t instantly becoming blowouts all the time. War Thunder’s ODL issue is not about the people leaving when they are dying, it is the nature of the game that is encouraging leaving.

Like those other games, War Thunder wants you to put fun first. You can pick any vehicle, any playstyle, pursue any objective you want without being forced to do anything. You don’t even need to worry about winning because most event/battlepass tasks do not need a win and most of your match payout is based on personal performance and not team efforts. Additionally, War Thunder sells premium tanks for players to quickly climb tech trees they do not have unlocked without providing additional vehicles or support to make those players useful to the teams they will be joining. So Gaijin clearly doesn’t care about ODL, so why does crew lock exist?

Crew lock exists to push players who have already obtained all the vehicles in their nation’s lineup to play every vehicle they can and respawn as much as possible so that they will serve as content for those other players who are working to progress their own tech trees and spade their own vehicles. It is meant to get people to continue to spawn into losing matches to increase their repair costs and give the enemy team a higher morale boost that comes from getting more kills for their win.

Crew lock has nothing to do with getting them to be better teammates, Gaijin doesn’t care if we work together or not. ODL is never punished for people who only bring 1 vehicle. So why are you supporting this? Let people play as they wish and leave when they are done. Forcing people who need to leave, are having a bad time, or don’t want to play with you anymore is nonsensical and only breeds more toxicity.

Much of the actual issue is the demands from players to ONLY win, or be put in battles that they win, and choose to throw the match at the slightest HINT that it’s not going thier way.

If you quit the match within 5 minutes, or class it as lost, then have that crew lock and quit out. It’s not a thing that the rest of the team needs to hear, or handle, because it genuinely is just a player issue.

It stems from the urge to ‘win’ and ‘kill’ and not ‘die’ in a game where the whole point of it is to engage, not chicken out.

It’s not over till thier mom is hollering.

Quick question, should I have an hour lockout if I have to urgently use the restroom and leave or should I sit AFK in the game and do nothing? Keep in mind being AFK in game is ACTUALLY against the game rules.

Old post but it’s still relevant. I don’t see ODL with arcade planes as often, because they also have lineups. What I think it is is just how tanks are. If I’m in a 4.0 plane but I face a 5.0 plane, I still have a chance.
When it comes to a tanks, if it’s a Full BR above me, this is really bad with 5.0-6.0, I’ll run into an issue of simply not being able to fight the guy or killing him is so annoying that you end up dying in the process. You’ll find people you simply cannot kill unless you flank them, but even that’s nearly impossible to do depending on team composition, what tanks you have in your lineup and what map you’re on. Why should I continue playing a match if I feel like I died to BS? Should I be forced to eat the slop when my shell magically bounces when it shouldn’t? Or my disabling shot for the barrel just disappears into the ether? What if I literally face tanks that are all severely superior to me in every way?

It’s not a game of rock-paper-scissors. It’s a gamemode where you’ll find people who will be able to stomp you into the dust unless you catch them with their pants down. Not necessarily because they’re better, but they’re in a map that forces head-on confrontations, or fights you have no vehicles for. Fighting a Tiger II while I have a 75 jumbo as my only viable option as a ‘heavy tank’ is not fun. Most of the matches being just slug fests where they try to cram everybody together. Screw light tanks.

Only thing I can think of is making huge maps where the terrain varies greatly and increase player count. But I highly doubt that’ll even do anything.

My ideal solution would be to enable reporting of 1 death leavers and have Gaijin perma-ban people doing so. However, this will (and should not happen - it’s just my disdain for one death leavers leaving me with extreme views) obviously never happen, so unfortunately we have to share a game with people that ruin it for the rest of their team by leaving after one death, instead of bringing an actual line-up.

keep crying

The problem lays in the fact that gaijin punishes players who bring more than 1 vehicle for leaving early… crew lock as is punishes people who bring more vehicles to a match that leave when the game is actually just an unwinnable spawn camp fest with no teammates left to help, which leaves you the option to wait a few minutes for the match to end or go into another match down on some of your vehicles. What we really need is some way to give the premium players more respawns as much as I hate to say it. Doing something like with Israel where you get 3 spawns wouldn’t really be fair since it would be kind of busted if you could take it out more than once without any backups. I’d much rather Gaijin do something like pack sales for top tier ground where you can get multiple vehicles at the same BR so you can have more than one respawn, like selling the RDF/LT and the click bait together so you get more variety while also being able to stay in the game much longer. But that’s not how they’ve decided they want to make money so 1 death leavers will always be a thing pretty much 10.0 and above every match.

CAS and bad maps

It could easily solved by just making a decent game, but that was not done originally so it is not to happen now.
It is an absolutely awful matchmaking system which was set up with the minimum effort and continues to have a minimum effort and interest input. Constantly buggering around with it to make it work does not help either, it is also not a team game.
It is broken and when people are pixel perfect shot, bombed, lucked out with the games RNG, or artillery kills them in the first minutes of a game, why do you think they would want to stay and feed someone’s ego and KD score. Skilled players/cheats, people with good hardware and internet connection are lumped in with people who are not skilled/interested or have less capable hardware and software.
Why blame them, blame the game/cheats and seal clubbers they are the reason people get fecked off with the situation.

LMAO

You know how many people are only interested in WW2 stuff?
Or when you build a nation of 0 you obviously start at the bottom BR for example then you already have 2k hours of games.

You can’t ban people for leaving a game, that’s insane.

A nation of 0 ? You mean they do not play at all because they have zero nations ?
What does it matter what era they are interested in ?
2k hours when you start at the bottom so somebody makes an account, logs in and plays their first game and they have 2k hours of gaming experience already ?
This just makes no sense at all, it is just a jumble of words strung together , with and added picture just of course to lend validity to the statement, which is what passes for critical thinking these days.
Is English your second language, if so sorry. I know it is difficult even when fluent in a second language to sometimes correctly translate and English is notoriously difficult with its nuances and multiple meanings.

From 0

I have 3K hours of games and yet there are nations where I have almost nothing

It’s my fourth language actually lol

So what you were trying to say is that you concentrate on one or two nations and do not play any of the others ? I expect you avoid the usual subjects which are rubbish in the start and then just consist of copies of other nations vehicles, or just have generally poor line ups.
By concentrating on a limited selection, which is up to you of course, you get very good at a very small sliver of what is playable, and I expect it is a nation which already has some advantages to begin with.
So you are shall we agree good at playing your selected nations, do you think other players should be penalized for not being so selective or not being that interested, or just picking the more difficult nations to play.
Should they also be allowed to play as and how they please ? There are casual players in the game, they should not be viewed as sacrifices to the more focused players, who complain that people leave after one death because they see it as denying them their stellar scores and performances, should the matchmaking be more about skill, ability and results.
Rather than as the matchmaking is now a complete mess, where there are so many disparate goals and personnel reasons. I prefer skill based matchmaking and do not even like mixing skilled players in with less skilled players, let the Uber menschen battle amongst their Godlike selves just let us mortals play in our own sandpit without interference from the Gods.
Congrats on being a polyglot there are far too few of them around !!!

Whilst a lot of what you wrote makes sense - imho you underestimate gaijin’s effort in creating the game itself and especially the economic aspects. It is no secret that video gamines are just a business like selling anything elso.

So whilst your assessment is fair enough from the perspective of a player - the game aspects you (and the OP) criticizes is just a tool for gaijin to earn money. The game itself is tailored to earn money with kids / rookies.

Have a good one!
