APDS, smaller-sized APFSDS, APCR, HESH, big HE, HEAT, and HEATFS all need massive rebuffs. Even without the apparently ahistorical stabilizer the Conqueror currently has, it should be able to slice through anything it meets from miles away, but I am not actually sure what its true reload rate should even be. Nor do I know whether or not the Conqueror had a one-plane short-stop stabilizer or literally none at all.
Used to be 380 pen flat and the round was FAR more consistent. When they buffed the pen, they nerfed the postpen and shell shatter to the point its nearly unusable. Like HESH, you can have big numbers but still horrific performance… if you are british.
See the British 105 APDS, legit punches harder than alot of the 105 APFSDS, yet does literally nothing when it pens, even if you DIRECTLY hit ammo.
Meanwhile Russian APDS and APFSDS can barely scratch your turret roof, and a single piece of fragmentation will find a piece of ammo and blow you sky high.
least they could do is give them faster reloads, there is no reason the Centurion Mk10 shouldn’t reload as fast as the Vickers Mk1.
Russian APDS and early APFSDS are nearly as bad (T55, T62). Trying to play it off as national favoratism is just diminishing your argument.
I can’t think of a SINGLE time i’ve not been one shotted by Russian APFSDS or APDS.
K. then try playing them if you think they are so good. The T54 APDS shatter just as much as brit apds and has similar poor postpen. Thats why most people use the HEAT. The T62 and T55a have been mediocre since they came out and its largely due to the APFSDS being so short it generates little postpen and has poor slope performance for APFSDS.
