YaK-9K: Remove it's APHE belt or move it up to 5.7 in GRB

Basically all Soviet WWII fighter planes are like that. They are jack of all trades. They don’t excell at anything but are good enough in everything.

Also that 45 mm can destroy modern MBTs so 6.0-7.0 ar not that tough.

I see them as an “obstacle” because I do not expect they will actually stop complaining even if they received their TO mode. I’ve seen enough cases of them crying about something, it gets changed, and the same people then either keep on crying or cry with similar intensity about something else within two weeks tops. Hence I arrived at the conclusions that I did, that the game must take steps to insulate themselves from such folk who will clearly never help themselves. TO could be a part of that, who knows?

A single 12.7mm Berezin at 5.0 is woefully inadequate against all but the dumbest of opponents. The 9UT with its twin cowl 20mm guns is the closest to an all-rounder, but still gets massively outperformed by a lot of common opponents. All they need to do is just…not turnfight the Yak.

Some, but not all of it. Tiger IIs, T29/30/34, and M103 all have 38-40mm roof armor, which gives very little time to aim at with a realistic chance to pen before needing to pull up and not crash. Everything else though, yes.

Sorry but my experience says otherwise.

I love the fact some people want the YaK-9K moved to 5.7 but ignore the giant Russian CAS monster in the room. Su-8 with 4 45mm cannons with 50 rounds in each. Yes it’s a market place plane but it is a reason it’s 150 dollars to buy, it’s a yak-9K on steroids AT 4.7

The Yak-9K is not the only plane now it seems the Yak-9/9B/9T works perfect against verhicles becaue the roof is tin and the penetration goes through. The Yak-9/9B replace the Yak-9K in GRB.

I dare you to fly it and get more kills than with a Yak 9k. Thats a good joke fr fr.

its baffling after almost a year since this post, seeing these people arguing against Yak9K getting its ammo taken away… its vile how this plane is literally able to do so much damage with almost complete impunity as its laser-accurate out to 2.5km and can kill literally every tank in the game below 10.0 (Russian MBTs with ERA roofs). that thing’s ammo NEEDS to be removed, its downright farcical how its allowed to keep it as Gaijin takes away the APDS from the Falcon/AMX30S DCA.

Well, it’s Russian, so no, it won’t be removed…

For starters they could give it insane dispersion like every other big cannon plane.

It’s strange that this is allowed while the BK 37 PzGr.18 (APHE) shell isn’t.

I shure hope it comes with the next major.

Agreeeeeed… (cough 50mm Me-262 which has like 3.5m dispersion at 100 meters… literally 1/4 shots actually hits where you aim even flying dead straight)

And Me-262 having double the weight Yak-9K has.

Well, they increased their BR.
Making them less effective.

Oh no, it still kicks ass at pretty much any Br. The only logical solution that will end this, is to remove its APHE.

Or give it the recoil behavior and accuracy that made it ineffective in targeting ground units.

It’s very unlikely that the APHE is ever going to be removed.

It’s just very unfortunate that AP is so ineffective in WT while APHE is the answer to all the real life problems.
