YaK-9 should be moved up to 5.7 in GRB

Yeah sorry that the experienced good players did not want a change that benefits bad players to go through.

How does making the REALISTIC/SIMULATOR GAME MODE have REALISTIC SHELL PHYSICS only benefit bad players?

The only people I saw in that thread defending APHE are people arguing it’d make the game less arcade.

Solution should’ve been arcade players keep the magic APHE, realistic/sim get actual shell physics that work according to simulations and WW2 battle & test reports (ergo: solid shot and APHE have comparable results, with APHE not providing any measurable advantage of note while having greater risk of fuze failure).

Ah yes, ever heard of this magical thing called Google Translate?

The yak gets rolled by any relevant fighter at the br that doesn’t immediately turn with it or go into the vertical. It does not have an exceptionally good flight mode, unlike the yak 3’s

Yeah why not add fuse failure so that at least 30-50% of the APHE works like a solid shot? OR MAKE THE BELT ONLY 10% AHPE AND THE OTHER SOLID SHOTS BECAUSE WHY DO WE NEED A FIGHTER WITH A UFO FLIGHT ABILITY ONE-TAP A WHOLE TIGER WITH A LASER BT-7 CANNON?

Then why don’t you do it for us since your defending a point? Like I got a proof (as a reddit video) so at least make yours readable for us since why would we bother anyways?

HUH? Then how does it one shot my Do 217 E-2 from 2 kilometers away? And how come I saw a Yak-9 rack up 9 kills in a RB match? And HOW does it beat Japanese planes by SOMEHOW coming from their six and winning them in a turnfight? PLEASE EXPLAIN MR.I LOVE THE YAK SO KEEP THE RUSSIA BIAS?

So. War thunder is firstly an arcade game. Realistic and simulator modes differ from ab by excluding some or all markers and restricting your viewpoint. The core of this is still an arcade game. That is also why things like track and barrel repairs taking ten seconds is possible as wel as another slew of things that are not as they are in real life. How the aphe changes will benefit only bad players was extensively discussed in the thread at the time so I will only be giving through the main points. Bad players do not know how to properly peek and aim at weakspots. Good players do. If you have bad players surviving a shot they should not be due to them not reacting on time, and then they get the option of shooting back because they were not killed by a well-placed shot, that is bad. Aphe currently rewards good aim. If you can hit cupolas, mg ports etc you get rewarded for your skill in aiming with a kill. If the aphe changes went through, some tanks would be noticeably better than others. Tiger 1’s for instance become completely immune to shermans for instance, while retaining the ability to overpressure and then your aphe change is worthless because one shot still kills due to overpressure.

Why should I? It’s the original source. If you can’t read Russian, translate it.

As for the first one, it has good guns like people have said here. You aren’t in a relevant fighter, you were most likely not doing anything to evade his shells. Pick something relevant to complain about please. As to how one can rack up 9 kills in a game, it’s the same as any other slightly cas-focused fighter. He was most likely uncontested by air, in which case he has the best chance of living. Aircraft should always win against spaa so there, that’s explained.

Leave a bf109g6, f4u4 etcetera alone and you’ll see the exact same thing.

…And what is the SPAA’s purpose then?

…And why should we bother to translate it?

Adding RNG like that is a bad game mechanic.

My main arguments against the changes were:

Nerfing APHE doesn’t make solid shot any better. Lower caliber solid shot will still suck, and it won’t be any nicer to use.

It was less consistent in identical conditions (based on what I saw).

It would’ve caused a lot of vehicles to change in performance, and i don’t trust gaijin to fix them quickly or properly.

And for the Yak-9K/UT, the best solution is to just remove the APHE from it. It’s a cool feature, but it’s just too OP in grb to have. Other planes are missing ordinance they had IRL for balance (and other) reasons, and the Yaks should get the same treatment.

To serve as a worse platform to deal with air because you don’t have the spawn points to get in a plane. It’s really simple.

Solid shot rewards good aim even more. You need to actually know what’s inside the tank and where the ammo racks and vital crew are and also know how to shoot the armour so that those components take damage (which can be impossible at certain angles.)

Whereas APHE? I take out any tank with APHE at rank 3 and lob a shell side-on and the tank dies. Boom, no thinking required.

Try doing the same with a comet or a challenger or a firefly. It’s not happening.

My favourite APHE kill was probably this:

Such amazing skill, when I play my british tanks the only reason i can’t do this is because my skill devolves using british tanks.

Yep. Just remove the APHE and the war is over.

I’ve flown almost every type of prop, and so far, Yaks are the worst of them.

LOL, what are u 12?

Why I said aphe rewards good aim is that, in general, solid shot has more pen compared to aphe. You lose penetration potential for damage.
