P-47 D28 - I’ve met some “disciplined P-47 D28 users”. Dude got his entire team roflstomped, then when he dove on my teammates I just climbed over him and insta-deleted the guy.
Same tactic applies to every plane played “safely”. If there’s no teammates, I always enjoy a good high speed reversal and then 1km Berezin burst ripping his a55 to shreds better than super hot burrito past its expiration date, but of course it only works once the enemy gets frustrated with me dodging everything (so it requires some.serious effort and a bit of luck).
The only techtree plane that can rival Yak-3 at low BR is goddamn F8F, as that thing has insane climb and speed, which means Yak user has to actually work to take you out.
3U has no real competition. Is Lf Mk IX deadly? Yeah. But LF Mk IX will bleed its speed, while 3U will be fast as hell almost every time you meet one.

Yak recieves one of the climbrates, above average low wing loading, above average low speed control (which means it is very responsive), above average ballistics and the shvak cannons isn’t weak because of a full FI-T belt and it always black out any section it hits, lovely how a lot of people glaze the shvak,
Also a I might add that the “lazer” american 50cal is not the only one with good ballistics and a full API-T belt, berenzin also has it.
Oh yeah and also once the yak’s nose comes down and it somehow didn’t land a snipeshot it can use it’s above average acceleration to get to the pretty low speed that it needs to start manouvering, use it’s once again above average energy preservation to gain speed while turning, using it’s above above average turntime.

Also the ammo pool problem is a skill issue, sorry not sorry, ammo quantity only becomes a problem when it less than 45-30 rounds.

Yak can reverse it all day, outrun it all day and has waaay better high speed turn and roll, oh boy, roll advantage is ridiculous.
Pyor probably wins sustained turn, but if you start at 600, Yak will murk you before the speed drops enough.
Yak is also WAY better armed and sits at 4.0
Seriously, I have tried to out-dogfight Yak in this thing and never really managed to turn for long enough to see myself gaining. Quite the contrary, I’m going 540, I turn with Yak on my tail, at first he can’t pull lead, but 7s later he 1-shots me whch means he was gaining

If Yak dives and you follow, you may end up overshooting very easily. If you don’t follow, you’re never catching him.
Pyor is very cool vs Bf 109s, but vs Yak-3 the fact it compresses so badly and is so slow means Yak almost always has an advantage.
Situation where you magically start combat when you both are going 450 and Yak can’t just extend out of it is so rare it’s not even worth discussing
dont use the full api-t 50cal berezin belt use the universal belt with he bullets (it does as much dmg as some cannons)
Yup, single Berezin with 50% HE on Yak-9K is my way of scoring air kills in Ground RB. It’s extremely good, though sometimes I need to hit up to 10 bullets (the horror! :D).
