Yak 3U Overpower!

That’s no fun, fighting squads sucks.

But if you’re solo, you can easily rack up a load of kills without also making the enemy team leave. That’s what I was talking about. If you’re running around in your gank squad and killing everyone the moment they step off the airfield of course they’ll leave.

A lot of sim players and squads actively avoid playing against other squads or experienced players. The only time I see experienced players against me is mostly when they have their own squad.

It’s a fraud game mode.

As I said. Fraud game mode where you just farm noobs for good KD.

I’m glad I’m a nobody then lol

Final BR Changes — April 2026 - Google Drive

Yak-3U not only dodged a bullet
Gaijin brought new fresh cannon fodder for it and shot it’s rivals in the foot
They’ve found a way to screw minor nations once again
4.3 Yak-3’s BR was only fixed because France players were having too much fun in it.

Until a nation outside the USSR or “big 3” recieves a yak-3U, it will never change it seems

The air changes are as always a complete joke.

Ground changes usually make sense and we finally have the Turm III moving up.

But air devs are just:

  • Zero at 5.7
  • Fw 190 A-8 to 5.3
  • La-7, Yak-9U, Yak-3U don’t see any issues
  • Well, let’s just move up the Yak-3 so people think we care
  • What is a Yak-3(e)?

Air RB:

  • Yak-3 (Eremin’s): 4.0 → 4.3

tbh it should go to 4.7 with the other yak3
(performance wise its slightly better than the normal one even)

During the good old days being in a squad was the only way to counter meta abusers. We used to have a channel to recruit players and join those matches where the less popular side was totally outnumbered. You should be extremely good to survive a full formation of 6 aircrafts covering each others.

Now I don’t care much, if you want to play sometimes you are forced to face more enemies in their superior planes. Problem is more about this obsession about stats and “skill issue”. Btw I’m talking about prop planes, not jets

Had the amazing pleasure of trying to win a match against a Yak-3U in the chinese P47D30, yeah I lost lmao.

But hey, you are faster at 6800m or something and may even win a head on if you hit that bastard in the engine and manage to dodge Shvaks, lmao,.

I was trying to fight this guy high-alt the whole time, but he ran off and RTB’ed at like 12 minutes in the match.

I had a wyvern teammate that was ground-pounding in the middle while the Yak-3U climbed back up to 3km, just near his airfield. Unfortunately, he died after hitting a tree trying to kill a howitzer. So at that point on I spiral-climbed to fight him in high alt. I reached 4.8ish km of alt then he started ground-pounding.

I was hoping I could win via tickets. I tried to get him via BnZ but by the 3d pass I was already out of energy (lmao) Unfortunately, his Tu-2 teammate was trailing me and dove on me, so I had to rush trying to kill him. I tried to full-commit headon him, he nicked my engine in a burst and dodged my guns and then on I couldn’t do shit then I died to him.

0/10 uptier the Yak-3U to 6.7 fuck this plane.

Yes, but setting up an energy trap vs a Yak-3U in a P-47 D-30 requires that the Yak player is on the same skill level like the average US premium LF Mk IX player. And since the P-47 flap nerf it became way harder to use P-47s.

And: This USSR engine produces imho way too much power above 6-6.5 km.

Besides that: Most of USSR fighters had no functional oxygen systems for their pilots. The few they had were either in US Lend-Lease aircraft or just copies of German equipment.

As gaijin advertises with realism regarding the implemented vehicles they should implement this too - that means that basically no domestic USSR prop could fight above 6 km for more than few minutes.

Edit: Grammar 😂

I managed to do this in a FR-1 vs a Yak-3 and a Ki-84 Ko - with 0 mission score.

I reverse climbed after spawn but was still lower than their Ki-84 (surprise) and messed up my only chance to drop on him - and (ofc) messed up (a few minutes later) also my drop on their Yak-3 wannabe ace.

As i saw that their bomber (PB4Y) was a rookie and had a stock plane i assumed that he will continue with his “one base per run” game play and saw that i could win if i play easy victim for both fighters.

So i flew directly in front of both fighters a large loop at ~ 5 km as i am actually faster than them at this alt and dragged both fighters 35 km away from the center in order to prevent them from killing my ai units.

As this is rather scummy i wrote them in all-chat that they can’t catch me below 7 km - but they decided to chase me, so they lost the match.

I have a strong conviction that everything overperforms at alt. You can climb to 13000m in Ki-27 f.e.
With sole exception of actual high alt planes, f.e. Ta-152H will keep overheating even at 8500m, where the temperature is basically guaranteed to be well below zero even on hot maps.

Zero at 5.7 because they kept the lack of high speed compressibility from all the way back in the Birds of Steel days in 2011.

You have a decent climb, better than most U.S. props. So you can dive on anyone you want and they can’t reverse you since you can pull 16g and just loop on their tail when IRL you would lawn dart because you’d have to pull harder than the cables could hold without snapping.

Honestly aircraft compressibility seems to be massively hit or miss and you see compressibility problems hit U.S. props the most because of all the NACA studies so you wind up with a huge amount of studies for aircraft that other countries don’t have. So Gaijin gets fair game. Like how the La-5 used to compress but just… Doesn’t anymore.

uhhhh no

You’re mistaking okay as “good.” the biggest issue is when you have slower climbing planes, and the A6M can still be at higher alt or equal alt, and those aircraft can’t run away from a diving A6M nor force an overshoot. Because the lack of control stiffening/.

I’m not saying the plane is great or even good. What I’m saying is that because of this issue, it causes it to get overtiered and you have to play very touchy and feely with it because the plane’s entire purpose is to be 100% aggressive. Hard to do that in BRs where you’re fighting K-4s and you can run into P-51H’s but A6M3 and A6M2 those issues are very prevalent.

If you get caught by an A6M you basically can’t escape and this trips up a lot of players. Basically “I am running away. How is he still catching me. Oh! Lemme use my high speed turn performance. Wtf that’s not working either.”

It does climb well, until you stop bein at low altitude, where you lose a lot of power.

And also the entire time you fall way behind everyone thank to your like 220km/h(?) speed on a climb.

At least it feels like that.

yeah “overtiered” shouldn’t be an excuse to model another weakness.

Simply add the weakness and fix the BR after it.

Also, Yak-3U is now experiencing the “plywood bug 2.0”, and I don’t even remember it being made of plywood (HE shells not fusing on plywood planes, which mostly means Soviet + Mosquito).
Oh well.
I guess that’s why this POS is so tough right now.
