Yak 3U Overpower!

Gaijin can’t model wing ribs but they can model this monstrosity?

Well, Yak-3U “skin” should trigger HE jusf fine, no wing ribs needed.
I think it used to be (maybe incorrectly) metal, now it’s also magically HE resistant in good part.

Yak-3U is either a testament to how incompetent USSR pilots are, or proof of a so said inclination towards a specific nation which is closely related to gaijin.

Because it essentially went down, the spitfire lf mk.IX went up but they forgot the one plane it helped keep in check?. And that’s with the lf comes with a premium variant in the USA, which is played almost twice as much and pulls barely past 1:1 K/d.

Yak-3U is TT only, which means it’s stats should come up as cleaner, but they didn’t?

Then they sent more food it’s way with g.55 serie 1 and g.55S, which are barely different from the 4.3 one to 5.3 BR, zeros went up 0.3 BRs, Fw-190 A-8s also went up and finishing is sending both the re.2005 and re.2005(VDM) which is literally just a better 2005 with better powerplant and multipliers to 6.3!

You can’t make it up!

As long as Yak-3Us keep trying to dogfight Zero‘s without using their much better energy states, nothing is going to change.

Last time I played the Yak-3U I barely got one or two kills per match because my team would always stomp the other.

So all the performance was wasted.

When I played the F-8 and A-8 and ended up with 3, 4 or 5 kills in match.
Same with the A6M5, lol.

So with much worse performing planes I ended up getting more opportunities for kills.

On one hand I was basically forced to take more risks but on the other there were actually targets for me, unlike when playing the Yak-3U and my team did all the work.

As long as he isn’t already directly above you, you can easily regain an advantage if he dives on you, by also diving and quickly going beyond his level top speeds.

In the contrary, you have to be MORE aggressive in higher BRs because you no longer have the option not to. You are simply too slow to do anything that isn’t “face towards enemy” or “sit in front of their guns so when they overshoot going >100kph faster than you, there will be a shot opportunity”.

LF9s have poor energy retention, so if they get behind someone it’s 99% a done deal, you aren’t getting them off. But 3Us keep speed very well, so a lot of players just reverse themselves comically easily. It’s also pointed out all the time to be extremely strong, so naturally a lot of players looking to compensate their lack of skill gravitate to it.

But no worries, there’s a Zero at 5.7 to keep it in check now.

Zero working overtime bruh.

The fact there’s an A6M above the A7M, should have been the wake up call.

They have turned the Zero into the bluecollar of newbie cleanup.

Yeah it’s crazy. But hey, we also have the Fw 190 A-8 above the D-9 😂

i wanted to try it but now…
well i somehow rlly changed my mind

I have always preferred F8 anyway due to even better spawn (same alt, but few kilometers forward).
Fw 190 D9 would be a nice aircraft if we actually had any sort of teamplay and if it wasn’t absolutely crippled by radiator drag and overheating. Wonder if I still have the highest score in this one…
EDIT: yup, don’t think anyone is beating 10 kills when the plane dies to a single hit with the worst guns available at 5.0 sans Hoe-5s maybe.

I got a 10 kill match in the Shiden the other day. For thread relevancy:

Predictably, he did not survive. It is immediately obvious why the 3U is still 5.7.

I’m talking about D9.
My score is hard to beat, as the plane got A LOT worse in the meantime.

If I can score 8 kills in Do-335 B2, which is a boat that can only do head-ons, so can Shiden assuming enemy won’t just chase you down, as Shiden is actually better in head ons because it’s not a size of a house, and both are equally weak to enemy fire, and Shiden has way superior nose authority.
D9 on the other hand, nowadays is bad in head ons, can’t turn, and while theoretically fast, in reality it can only outrun Spitfires and some Japanese planes with any sort of reliability, unless it’s a cold map.

But that’s off-topic indeed.

IMO Gaijin should start with fixing the plywood bug 2.0, then fix the impact of damage model on flight characteristics, as the video of 3U stalk fighting withiut wingtip, and then without one wing and 1 wingtip shows there’s something really wrong with that plane. It essentialy ignores damage and barely slows down in the process.

I think I posted this video in some topic already, but can’t see it in this topic hmmm…

Right now Shvaks not only deal more damage than MG151/20 when we compare M-geschoss to FI-T, it’s also the most damage resistant plane around while being very small and hard to hit. This plane has very good performance, but it also has a ton of advantage that can’t be simply measured.

I’m not sure if it’s just AEC messing up but from my testing it’s underperforming compared to the original datasheet. The datasheet quotes around 380mph on the deck yet in game (with AEC) it only manages 366mph.

I know. I wouldn’t want to fly that thing for even one kill now.

They can since it’s quite slow. But anyway, now that one of my favorite (mid) planes has been moved up to 5.7, I see a lot more 3Us than before. No surprise that it’s 5.7 when they just do… that.
