Yak-30 shouldn't be 8.7

The Yak-30 is just a MiG-15 but slightly more manouevrable and can get nose on easier. armament however is worse and it feels alot slower - much slower than the aforementioned 8.0 MiG-15, hell, half the time it feels like you’re at the speeds of a La-15. Energy retention and generation is also slightly lower.

You will never break 0.8~ mach in a match unless in a dive, which is problematic, alot of 8.7s do this in a straight line easily, which makes uptiers and even fighting at your own tier extremely rough.
It feels like a slightly better (in some aspects) MiG-15, more or less a sidegrade.

I think it should go down to 8.3. Moving things down usually isn’t a great idea but this thing is abysmally slow and it really is just a turnier Mig-15 (and the mig-15 should go back to 8.3 anyway, same with the A-5 sabre and the rest that were changed last year, but this is good as an interim change)

Rare instance of this plane even being mentioned, but I agree.

It can work at 8.7, but it’s just too slow to do anything, and it doesn’t offer a ton of advantages over the Yak-23. Compared to the Yak-23 it’s faster, but it’s less maneuverable in my experience.

I also agree that the Mig-15s/Sabres need their BR reductions reverted because they are undertiered relative to everything else.

Honestly calling it slow is an understatement. I’ve been outrun by a literal Skyhawk, this really needs to go down

Yak 30D is already a relatively tuned version, but even though it was comparable to the MiG-15 in many ways, overall it was rated worse than the MiG-15 by test pilots, this is also described in the link…
Its rating in the game is strange, I would say it is because the MiG-15 and Sabre F-86 are world-famous legends of the Korean War and almost no one knew this one…
Reducing the BR for the 30D would be good, but Gaijin probably has a reason why it is so high…
I am attaching a link from the old wiki-WT, a good source of information for the game…

Tried and tested, but not taken. It’s a wreck that you have to buy to continue researching the branch of rather strange aircraft above it…
A 1949 aircraft will meet a Starfighter and rather modern fighters, armed with decent guided missiles… :-D

Resume: Leaky pocket, Black hole for throwing out Silver Lions.

It’s probably this high because of statistics, it was 8.3 for a bit a while ago and like 4 people play it ever

Which is sad, I think it looks cool and flies good, I grinded the entire soviet tree to try it out

It’s the same story with all the other, less popular planes around this BR, like the Mysteres, G/91s, British planes, etc.

Gaijin, in their infinite wisdom, saw the suffering that was occuring in this BR range from subsonics having to face supersonics, and decided to resolve that. By selectively moving the most popular (And also generally strongest) subsonics down. Sure, they get to suffer less from the F-104 spam, but it also means a whole new area of compression as first generation jets are expected to face Mig-15 Bises and F-86F-2s. Meanwhile, the weaker 8.7s/8.3s that were left behind not only still have to face F-104s and other supersonics, they also have to face their previous superiors in even higher numbers, even in downtiers.

We need a complete reversion of that change, and several new BR brackets to properly decompress this area.
