But the Yak-9T is also 4.0 with the same performance as the Yak-9 at 3.0 while the Yak-1 at 2.3 isn’t much worse than the Yak-9 at 3.0.
Since ShVAKs have basically god like firepower, the secondary armament is pretty much irrelavant.

its not even the same its notieably worse due to the heavier nose from the 45mm 200kg so from an empty mass of 2350 to 2550 its really noticeable

Yes, the Yaks are praised for their maneuverability. They lack top speed, they are fragile with high speed.
But they also have the WEP mode. Yak`s dont have any at least until like, 5.0?

all YAKs wield 20mm SHVAKs except those who wield 37 and 45mms

Its easy enough to turn away from head-on with a single cannon that doesnt even have that much of a good ballistics.
And any 20mil with HEs does oneshots there. Again if anything the P-400 has better cannon, also nose mounted but with better ballistics allowing further shots. Sits 2.0 being same fast as YaK-1 and having additional 2x12.7 while YaK is left with 7/62s

I dont think so. Those planes are objectively better as they dont fall behind much, easilly outturn even some biplanes, and have the MGs which shread with a little less damage than 20mils.

Getting outturned by a Bf 109 E-4 isn‘t a metric for a bad plane.
Not only is it at a lower BR it has more effective armament and is perfectly capable to kill other planes.
It has better ballistics, less spread and high quality belts with 50-50 AP and HE good damaging munitions. Its a Hispano 404. Basically Hispano Mk2 but with mags. Best cannons there is ingame
funny guy. Not one YaK has 100% HE belt. YaK-1 has BEST 50% belt with AP-HE-HE-FI. And you wont use it as its tracerless.

Oh i gladly will. I stopped using the FULL TRACER belt when it got changed from mixed AP-HE-FRAG-HE to full OZT. Them frags dont do shi…, so on my YAKs i use Ground Targets belt. Same problem follows the MG-FF cannos which doest have any HEs.
If it’s not HE, why does it have explosive content and literally does the same damage as HEF and HEFI?
Literally everyone uses the FI-T tracer belts for ShVAKs.
