Like many, I went through the changelog for the Levithan’s update and was happy to see the XM800T and Sheridan switch positions in the tech tree. Well, sort of… If I am correct, when the XM800T was added to the game, it was 7.7. It got moved up to 8.0, and now its 8.3. Personally, I don’t think it would struggle going higher, as it’s a pretty common sight seeing people bring it up to the 9.0 range. We’re all quite aware it’s a very good vehicle.
Now on the other hand, we have the M551 Sheridan. Currently at rank VI, (but soon to be rank V), the Sheridan is pretty well recognized as bad. Very Bad. The Armour is hardly resistant to 50 Cals, the reload is frustratingly slow, and the HEAT isn’t great. And you would hope the Shillelagh’s would make it better, but inevitably they don’t. It does get a UAV though, but that will be removed when it switches places with the XM800T. Interesting, because the premium 76 version is quite good. The key factor here is the 152mm Gun/ Launcher. It’s not very good on the Sheridan, and it’s not very good on the XM803 either. (I’d argue it does actually work fairly well on the M60A2 though).
I think switching the positions of these two vehicles is overall a good thing for balance and stuff, but in my individual situation, I’m actually halfway through researching the XM800T, so i want to hustle and get it before Ima have to go through the stinky Sheridan. (Womp-Womp)
Still, an overall good decision that I feel has gone somewhat unrecognized given the big headlines of the Yamato, multi-vehicle SAM’s, F-2 etc
Ok, and? you have your opinion and I have mine, doesn’t change the fact that the XM803 is a good vehicle, also the XM803 has around the same pen as the M60A1 (AOS) (RISE P)
Never expected my post to start arguments on XM578E1. But I feel the need to comment that its really quite rubbish. Just compare it to some other APFSDS rounds at 9.0-9.3. ( DM23, DM33, 3BM15, 3BM22)
