WT graphics quality 2025

The main models the need to be upgraded the most are the bomber cockpits, most are awful

SQUAD a while back was tired of everyone turning shadows/grass to the lowest setting and forced them on for everyone and it pissed A LOT of people off and some people couldn’t play anymore, but the game still ended up fine gaining players even, not sure how that will go over here but it does maintain some competitive integrity. Now they are moving to unreal 5 and the game looks amazing and they are able to make sure shadows are perfect and if you are in a shadow on your screen its gaurenteed the other player also sees you in a shadow but people with like 3090s are dropping to like 40 frames sometimes.

I guess the question here in WT is it worth throwing people with potatoes under the bus to leveling the playing field. I don’t think it will ever happen unless gaijin makes some serious breakthroughs on optimization on their engine.

You can switch off both in game options.

I dare say the majority of those requiring ulq are not the ones keeping this game afloat by spending real $$$ on this game. The game would be fine. Money and population wise.

Yeah, I recommend playing native. Both DLSS and FSR have had a mediocre implementation in this game. It’s like they added all these things in late 2023 and then haven’t worked on optimising and improving it ever since.

Already answered such suggestions/ideas numerous times.

WT graphics changed much since 2012. Dagor Engine evolved, system requirements went up. It’s not like game is available since 2012, so it is perfectly playable on hardware from 2012. Right now, minimum requirements are more or less medium/high GPU from 2012. So something, that would allow you to play WT on max settings in 2012, now allows you to launch game and play it on minimal settings. (Which still is crazy, if you think on it, 2012 was 13 years ago! WT optymization is great!).

What do you mean by “poor people”? The fact that someone is less lucky than you and simply cannot afford good hardware means that we should exclude them from our game? The world is not equal for everyone; not everyone can afford good hardware. We will not try to exclude the less lucky players.
“Go without the game and get some money” – sorry, but this is a really bad approach. There are places on Earth where this is simply not possible. What if they work 12 hours just to survive, and want to spend an hour after their hard work playing their favourite game? They should work harder and wake up earlier, so they can succed and afford latest GPU and CPU? What kind of meme approach is this?

If it gives them an unfair advantage ingame, yes. If it creates an environment where we have to tone down graphics or those on potato machines (or those people who do it anyway even with good machines) will see us through grass and foliage, yes. My 1080 from 2016 that is collecting dust in storage will play this game at 1080p/1440p at high settings. Even the ewaste we ship to third world countries can play this game above ulq. It’s a tired excuse at this point. Anyway I’m not debating this further because Gaijin is stuck in their ways on this matter.

It doesn’t. If you think it gave them an advantage, use it.

That’s exactly what I was talking about earlier! You simply can’t see the world outside your own bubble. Everywhere, there are people who will see the GTX 1080 as a significant upgrade from what they have now. I hope that one day you will understand how different the world out there can be.

One of the most random claims I saw today :)
Game is perfectly playable in 1080p.

My friend’s game became abnormally laggy and almost impossible to play after updating Win11 on his computer, and only WT experienced this problem. We cannot find where the problem lies

OK thx :)

Did last major update break LoD levels and mipmapping. It feels like game is giving me wrong stuff. I found it most apparent in cockpit of He112 B0 where if you put your head way back you can see lines going out of sight to left and right and when you rotate your heat at some angle you shouls barely be able to see sight it turns normal.

It seems to me like trees in ground mode also got some issues where they begin to render full quality model only when i get like 20m to them.
I can screenshot what im talking about tommorow.

No they don’t.
Either you have grass that ruins immersion [max settings] or you have realistically short grass and people that like long grass hate it.
I hate unrealistically long wild grass.

ULQ is a handicap anyway.
If people want to have a harder time spotting targets in ground battles, more power to them.

Grass gets long if you dont mow it, who is mowing the grass in the squad universe before every match?

No one’s mowing wild grass.

That’s not a shadow problem, that’s an Unreal 5 problem. Unreal 5 has random frame drops for no reason on every single fucking game running on it. Doesn’t matter how weak the graphics requirements are. Solution is to punch Tim Sweeney in the nuts.

What needs to be made better:

  • Puddles on the abandoned factory map are like glass. They don’t move when driven over
  • Glass from buildings doesn’t break when you shoot a HE round from a 105 mm cannon straight at it from point blank range
  • Objects like cars, trees and bushes are too easy to break and then sink into the ground

This is all I can think of at the moment. Tell me if you can think of any more.

There are games that run like butter on unreal 5, I think its more of a dev problem than the engine or at least its not all on the engine being bad.
