WOW, first time in Warthunder flying at high graphics settings!

  1. Whew!, I started in the Beta days, but Ive always played with an avg HP laptop, my last HP was pretty good, but I played at low settings and got about 60-72 fps.
But I splurged yesterday morning and got a high end Alienware laptop (dont really want a PC, I travel a lot), then I also got a nice monitor with 165hz.
After I spent all day downloading different things I use, I finally got to play WT.
I was like, “Well, let me set this thing on High settings” Wow, its really amazing
High settings, averaging 157 fps, ping is around 30.
I just couldnt believe it even when I saw the plane sitting in the hanger. Even though my monitor can handle 165hz, in game Im still getting around 177fps, but of course my monitor can only handle some of that, prob around 150. What a difference! I always wondered what a good PC could do here.
I knew this Alienware was good, but I didnt know it was that good!, Its made excited again, which Ive lacked in the last year and a half. Wow! pretty cool, the shading, just everything.
  2. Okay, now back to planes. There is one plane I am going to fly until I get great in it, I see its potential at BR 13, its the Su 27, USSR. And I just love R27ers, r73s, used to love Mig29, until it was surpassed in eras really. Ive flown long enough and taken that thing on test flights, I can see that if you know how to use it, its a real Beast.
It has a rep for not handling well, but in reality, its very maneuverable…I think with a combo of throttle control and airbrake in the WT program world, it can turn better than its stated stats (lol but you know how that is).
Well, I just wanted to share that, for years Ive been playing at low settings, I just cant believe the difference at High settings, tomorrow Im going to try Movie settings, but after all this setup all day, Im not messing with it now, ready to get back to battle.
WT seems expensive at times, for different things, but if you compare it to some hobbies, its not quite bad at all. Try buying a good boat with 4 Hondas, or restoring a muscle car, WT is not bad at all, I chunk a few dollars every few months on some prem that looks fun.
Okay mates, good luck and good hunting…play with honor we used say in the Beta days.

Lucky you! I am playing with a Dell from 2015 at low graphics with 10 FPS. Moreover, my keyboard just got a circuit error yesterday and I’m doing multiple gimmicks to make it work. Also, I’ve heard you need to limit the FPS to the monitor or something like that, just a tip, but don’t take it seriously, I’m not a PC/Laptop nerd. I don’t have the Su-27, but the Su-33 is great, of course, you face ARH slingers but it’s easy to defend against them. Good luck and maybe the new laptop gives you a better performance than before.

How much did that computer cost?

Same question, I have to buy a new one either way.

Thank you, I will say, WT kind of made me a computer Nerd, because as well as your flight skills, your settings make a difference. When I first started playing, I couldnt figure out why I was getting on everyones Six, but couldnt shoot them down, …
It was because I had a avg laptop on High Settings, and my FPS was about 18, by the time I shot, they were already 30meters in a different direction.
Thanks mate, good luck.

$2100 US dollars with a discount online, and then 210.00 for the 165hz monitor from Walmart, I was really surprised at the performance.
I travel a lot and have stayed in hotels with 3 download and 3 upload, Im home now, bought that, combined with Att fiber,…pretty amazing I thought.

Okay I might by a PC for 1500 dollars then XD

Gaijin doesnt gimp ultrawide users either which is cool. 25% extra FoV is nice on 21:9.

Now try downloading Ultra High Quality models for everything to see how it runs.
